Child of Light

Walkthrough Video Showcases Gameplay

Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends charmed gamers in recent years with their cool concept art-like visual style. The same creative tool used to create those games, the UbiArt Framework, is behind the upcoming Child of Light.

The game includes cooperative play in a traditional JRPG combat system, and a charming fairy tale story. A new video includes an extensive walkthrough of a section of the game, along with commentary from lead programmer Brianna Code.

Child of Light is hitting PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC early in 2014. Check out the video below, and share your thoughts about the upcoming role-playing title in the comments below.

  • Holy crap....

See this, gaming industry? THIS is what you need to start making again.

  • This is a damn beautiful game. The battles are very final fantasy inspired. Can't wait.
  • I've been waiting to play this game since I saw the first trailer. The atmosphere looks absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of Ralph Bakshi's films, on some level.

I'm going to try and limit the amount of exposure I have to any future trailers. I want to lose myself in experiencing everything for the first time.
  • This looks really unique and interesting.  I'll have to keep an eye on it.

  • It looks really unique and I really like the art style. I'll be keeping my eye out for this later down the road

  • I'll get it on Wii U. It looks plain awesome.

  • This is probably one of my most anticipated games now.

  • man, that game looks awesome, i wonder if there will be much of a difference between the ps3 and ps4 versions

  • Sounds pretty, the classical music perfectly suits the storybook visuals. And man, Ubi Art can do some neat stuff - her hair is hypnotizing to watch. I wonder why they opted for a sidescroller though, instead of a top down thing - y'know, like a traditional RPG? It's no biggie; I'm just curious.

I hope it doesn't bomb like Rayman Legends. Ubi Soft needs to see more evidence that games without guns, terrorists, or assassins can sell in this day and age.

  • This looks fantastic. Really like the Grandia style battle system. Also, the lady talking had a very soothing voice. Wish she was in the game lol

  • Unbelievable, can't wait!

  • Wow looks very impressive. Also, I think I would get this just for the beautiful piano music. Really can't wait for this one.
  • I like it!
