Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Meet Some Of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Infamous Pirates

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Edward Kenway is unlike the previous heroes of Ubisoft's annual series. He's not the sternly insolent Altair, nor is he the reserved but charming Ezio. He's brash and explosive, and these are traits necessary to survive in a world of pirates.

In the video below, you'll get a more in-depth look at some of the famous figures that appear in the story. Join Blackbeard, Charles Vane, and many others on October 29, 2013, when Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag arrives for Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be available at the launch of those consoles.

  • This is hopefully going to be my big open world game of 2013 now considering I've become so disenchanted with GTA V (I just really hate the multiple player characters and switching mechanic, can't really enjoy the story at all and hate being forced to complete missions for characters I don't like to progress the story).

    Looking forward to it.
  • As I have been a huge fan of the AC series as a whole and all the game's I wasn't really looking forward to this since AC3 really irritated me pretty bad with the ending but as a gamer you have to move on and get over it. So that's what I'm going to do and the more and more I read about this game the more I get excited for it. Arghhhhhhhh!

  • I'm going to spend most of my time in the sea pillaging and pirating and whaling and sharking and looting and capturing and admiring.
  • You forgot 'nor is he the stiff, constantly unhappy Connor'.
  • I'm sick and tired of Black Flag videos! *flips table*. I want to play it now ARGHRHGR!!!!!

  • Jack Sparrow?
  • Hah, sounds like Assassin's Creed is finally a Red Dead GTA in pirate cloaks. Nice really. Have a good feeling about Ed Kenway as a character, obviously trying for a British Ezio. I just know I'm gonna go into this being irked by the convoluted present day segments, but if those open seas are as fun as they make them out to be, I'll be one jolly roger.
  • Can't wait to play this on the PS4.
  • I really like the AC series, and I love that they chose to use the pirate theme to create the next game. I absolutely loved the sea missions in the AC3 and can't wait to have an open world with ship to ship battles.
  • I'm struggling big-time with my decision to play this or Shadow Fall first! I've said this before, I really dislike the character look of Edward, he looks plastic to me compared to Ezio or Connor. That said, I'm stoked to get my hands on this and my PS4!

  • <---didn't watch the video...no spoilers please...maybe it's me, but lately, there have been a lot of videos showing characters and whatnot about a game...what happened to just being excited about a game...remember super mario bros 3? the only news that came out was that you could fly...bam! wanted to play it...

  • I'm interested to see Ubi's take on these classic figures.
  • SOOOOOOO EXCITED for this this, but if they miss an opportunity to put an easter egg in for captain JACK SPARROW i will probably just die a sad death :( haha. i really am hopeing for that however

  • I'm really liking the characters this time around. I feel like people complain about Connor a lot, but I actually found most of the characters in ACIII unlikable (George Washington had no personality, Ben Franklin seemed practically senile).
  • I am still on the fence about this game. I just don't know really. Yet more I see this and the more I like the showing of the other Pirates that sailed. The more I like it all. May end up Pre-ordering it anyway.

  • This game looks really fun.  AC III was a bit more serious in my opinion, but this game looks like it has a bit more of a "fun" factor to it.  I wouldn't mind pre-ordering it, but I'd really like to get this for the PS4, and I don't know if I'll have the money for the PS4 at launch though, so I may have to skip out on the exclusive in-game missions...

  • Got a feeling Wood Rogers will be my favourite character in this game.

  • Wow that got me super excited now.
