Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

A Look At The Pirate Life In The Open World Of Black Flag

Ubisoft releases new gameplay footage that shows off open-world possibilities of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Black Flag takes full advantage of the Caribbean setting and allows players to immerse themselves into the pirate lifestyle.

Upgrading your ship is just as valid as taking over enemy ships and crews and making them your own. If naval combat is not your style, it looks like there is plenty to find in the lush island scenery as well. And, there are always assassination contracts to take on for some extra gold. Shark fighting is also a popular pastime

Do the new gameplay possibilities intrigue you? Let us know in the comments.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on October 29. PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions are also planned for a later release.

  • this looks like it's going to be so much fun to play :D

  • Everything Keeps better and better every year this franchise release. I don't know why some people compare this game with such other annual games like cod.Assassin's creed franchise is not a dead one as like cod because every year it has a new things to offer to it's customers and the element of creativity can bee seen in every second of it's new, fresh and addictive gameplay
  • This trailer sold me hardcore. I will be buying this on day one!

  • I am still really gun shy about this title.  As I have posted on here before, I was so let down with AC-III, I fear it's just a COD symptom type game now.

  • crap, meet pants

  • cant wait to get this for my xbox one
  • If this has all the makings of a great pirate game  and none of a good AC game I wouldn't care in the slightest.

  • I'm really excited for this one but why is there still no damn crouch button? the stealth elements of these games have always been flawed. Still going to have a blast with it and predict a high 9 score for review scores :)

  • Alright.. I am officially STOKED for this, they've won me over after the blan release of AC3.. Can't wait!!!

  • Oh...My...Gawd! You see the size of that world....I don't even wanna play this anymore!! Lol, J/K. This is actually the first video or gameplay Ive seen of BlackFlag cause I didn't think it was gonna be any good. I thought for sure they were making way to many AC games.....BUT MAN WAS I WRONG!! Im definitely picking this up day one for Xbox 360, and if there are any major changes to the X1 version Ill be picking it up again when its released for the X1. This game is just ridiculously gorgeous and game play looks freaking amazing! All I can do is shake my head lol, wow!
  • Good god I don't want to wait for it now. It looks like I'll be putting in ALOT of hours with this.

  • Cool, I hope this turns out to be a good game.

  • It looks really good, but I would like to see the AC series return to its roots as well. For some reason, ACIII just didn't feel like the other AC games for me, and I'm afraid to see this go the same way. While this games certainly looks fun, I really feel that it strays away from the AC series as a whole. For me, ACII, and AC Brotherhood were the best games in the series. Regardless, this game does look very fun and entertaining, so long as its polished nicely.
  • I have yet to play an AC game (and I really don't won't to).  But seeing as how this is an open world game with pirates, I might check it out.

  • This game is looking fantastic.  I don't know if it's that ACIII was such a let down or if this game is actually good.  I may actually get this at or shortly after release instead of waiting like I did for ACIII.

  • i'm waiting till i t the ps4 for this, i have seen enough of the Ubi developer diaries to know they have added things on next gen that would break current generation fans and overheat the console (exaggeration) but on a serious note they did just pull me back into the series with this game play

  • I cannot wait to go around as a magestic pirate singing sea shantys and not caring at all about the assassins creed lore.
  • Okay, I've been cautious about this game so far (maybe franchise fatigue), but after seeing some actual gameplay, I'm starting to get hyped for it!

  • Okay, so whose ancestor are you playing as now that SPOILER......... Desmond is dead?
  • So from previous land exploring to sea exploring. Great idea ,but what if people get sea sick. Hehe. I just hope the cities are HUGE with lots of targets
