The lights are on
One of the elements of Ubisoft's Watch Dogs that hasn't yet been fully detailed is how the companion app will function as a multiplayer tool. We've got a new glimpse of that straight from E3, in a new video courtesy of the Ubi Blog.
In this scene, anti-hero Aiden Pearce must navigate his way to rescue his ally, T-Bone. Once on scene, Aiden puts his hacking skills to use distracting guards and creating cover for T-Bone. One thing we noted that didn't make much sense is that a helicopter spotlight was able to identify Aiden from the air. Assuming that the player were smart enough to change cars stealthily, we're not sure how the pilot or crew would be able to spot him driving.
Once his friend is safe, Aiden's own getaway is aided by a mysterious stranger using the title's companion app. You can see for yourself exactly how that works in the video below.
Watch Dogs will be out on November 19th for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are planned, and some retailers are offering a PlayStation 4 Watch Dogs launch bundle.

Interesting, but I think I'll pass on the app unless you actually need it.
I'm very excited for this game, but i don't think i'll be using this.
Also, i think you guys meant Playstation 3 in the first line of the last paragraph
T-Bone kind of sounds like Kevin from The Office a bit, or is it just me? I can't wait for this! Should be a blast, and hopefully something that is similar to Dark Souls take on multiplayer, if not better.
Rather cool way to have a buddy around and has an App device and have them help out in those tight places. Yet using it yourself while playing at the same time and in those tight spots? Yeah right...not going to happen. Unless you are born with an extra set of arms that are usable.
Still I pre-ordered my copy and don't regret it. A very interesting idea that is rather amazing no one even tried to do before. I mean hacking has been around as a skill in many RPGs but as what you can call a "Super Power". That is rather cool.
Interesting option, but I'm not sure if I will ever use it. Still can't wait for Watch Dogs!!
Cool,i don't think i will use the app though
The helicopter was able to spot him because he kept running through the stop signs. That'll get you every time.
I sensed Batman from 0:38 to 0:44
I am so excited for this game, I can't wait for it. I might even get the PS4 bundle early on.
Noooo!!! The apps are everywhere! Even in our games! ;)
Omg im so excited for this game
