Destiny

Jon Favreau Directs New Trailer, First Gameplay Reveal At E3

No one does live-action trailers like Bungie, and the latest for the upcoming Destiny meets the high bar of past work. The 60-second video was directed by Jon Favreau and stars Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Revolution).

Like all Bungie live-action shorts, it helps set the tone for the game.  The more interesting news though, is that we'll finally see substantial gameplay at Sony's E3 press conference on June 10.

Destiny is slated to arrive later this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

  • This year? Wow. I thought it was slated for next year. Anyway, the anticipation for the PS4 conference keeps growing. I'm sure Destiny is going to be bigger than Halo. For one, it looks far more interesting and then (the obvious) it being multiplatform and (at least the first game) multi-generation.
  • My body has been ready for this since birth.

  • Now I'm really looking forward to E3.
  • Game Informer's video player really sucks.
  • Incredibly excited about this game!!!!!!

  • Halo 5 looks amazing.
  • Quiver, ladies. He's gonna set the world on fire!

  • Bungie always makes awesome live action trailers and this one did not disappoint. The part with the hover bikes on the moon was particularly cool. I can't wait to see some actual gameplay footage at E3, and at Sony's conference to boot!
  • Oh man!! Now that is what I'm talking about. E3 on the 10th? Thank goodness I have tix to the event!! Don't want to miss this one... PS4? YES PLEASE.......
  • No way this is coming out this year. We may see this in 2014, but not in 2013. Bungie will not risk releasing a game with such a saturated market this fall.
  • Hopefully I wont be getting my hopes up like I did for Halo Reach and Halo 4 but this game looks pretty awesome.
  • Well, that was awesome.

  • Seeing as the game is being shown at the Sony press conference, it seems to me that Bungie is garnering more towards Sony this generation and not Microsoft (If the exclusive content for PS4 isn't enough evidence already).
  • Gustavo!
  • Don't forget that this game is always-online guys!

  • This trailer really made me want some Los Pollos Hermanos V :P V

  • I hope this game has some type of forge in it! It would be cool if you could build towns.

  • And it is revealed!- how epic and powerful the Jungle Book really is. Great trailer, Bungie.

  • I can't say I'm excited for this title just yet, but I love the art direction and how they handled this trailer. It sets a beautiful tone, and even better, it had some awesome quotes! "The wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die." and this one which I quite enjoy, "The strength of the pack is the wolf; and the strength of the wolf is the pack." I hope these sayings have some heavier meaning and are expanded upon.
  • I am surprised at Bungie that this game is not a Xbox 1 exclusive and that it will be on all platforms. Nice :)
