The Evil Within

A Menacing Voice For A Terrifying Antagonist

Bethesda has announced the principal actors for Shinji Mikami’s upcoming survival horror title, The Evil Within. The headliner has played anti-heroes and villains, including one of horror’s most recognizable monsters.

Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in Watchmen and Freddy Krueger in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, voices The Evil Within’s antagonist, Ruvik. Joining him is Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) as protagonist Sebastian Castellanos and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) as Juli Kidman.

Carpenter, who played Debra Morgan in Dexter, appears in the base game, but will take the spotlight in post-launch DLC focused on Kidman. The Evil Within will be out on October 14 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.

  • Hell on Wheels!
  • Haven't heard many good things from people who played parts of it, but we'll see. Certainly a nice list of voice actors.
  • Anson Mount is awesome! I'm sure you've seen him on Hell on Wheels. But one of his best performances was in a little known movie called "Poolhall Junkies"!

Jennifer carpenter and Jackie earl Halley are both fantastic character actors as well. This is a wonderful piece of news! I'm so glad I read this article. I was 50/50 on this game till now. Well, I mean I was always planning on playing the game, but I didn't have high hopes for it.

However, now that the actors have been revealed, I have a bit more anticipation for this game.!

  • Between this and Alien Isolation. I'm going to have fun playing horror games this October, or be terrified, however way you look at it.
  • Jackie Earle Haley is awesome. Watchmen was probably the best-cast comic book movie outside of Scott Pilgrim.
  • Jackie Earle Haley is pretty awesome.

  • As long as he doesn't use the "batman voice." He would have been perfect for Rorschach if he hadn't use that awful voice.
  • I... I... I must have this game. Please... please hurry October.
  • I'm not stuck in here with you. YOU'RE STUCK IN HERE WITH ME!! I love that movie. :)
  • It's good to see Jackie Earle Haley in something again, especially in a video game. I can't remember seeing him in anything since Nightmare on Elm Street.
  • Probably the best actor in Watchmen, which is my favorite graphic novel, in a horror game that reminds me of the early RE games and The Last of Us? You had my curiosity but now you have my attention.
  • Good cast for sure, but I haven't been impressed by the gameplay I have seen. I know there's till over a month until release, so they have some time left to polish the mechanics... but I'll be waiting until it's closer to launch before I decide on buying it full price or waiting until it drops down. Still, glad that people are trying to make genuine horror games.

  • Awesome to see so many comments of people praising Watchmen. That was my favorite film that year. Never understood why there are so many haters.

  • Resident Evil 1-4 is the only reason I'm even considering this game. Everything they've exhibited so far has left much to be desired. And I've been looking for a reason to give my PS3 the boot.
