The lights are on
Square Enix and Remember Me developer Dontnod have announced what might be the most appropriately titled game this year. The new game, Life is Strange, is a brand new intellectual property that will be delivered digitally using an episodic format.Square Enix describes Life is Strange as "an entirely new IP in the official Square Enix family," indicating that the publisher hopes to be in this for the long haul. The title takes place in Oregon, as Max Caulfield returns home and discovers she can rewind time. Every action has a ripple effect, but players will be able to tweak their decisions thanks to Max's abilities. We don't know much yet (though Square Enix says that every texture is hand-drawn), but we're eager to check the game out later this week at Gamescom. Keep an eye out for our impressions. The title is coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. No release window has been provided yet.
Well I am certainly intrigued.
I dislike episodic releases. I'll simply wait until all of the episodes are out and buy the game at 66%-75% off like I do with Telltale's games.
modern day prince of Persia? Count me in!
Remember Me was pretty all around mediocre, so I hope they can pull out something better with this.
Sounds pretty cool, DONTNOD seems to really like female protagonist and I actually enjoyed Remember Me it was unique.
It'll certainly be pretty. I was hoping for a Remember Me sequel though.
Hmmm intruigued concept, let's see if this'll be a buy for me.
Only thing putting me off is digital release via episodic format.
yesss. I LOVED remember me. It definitely had it's flaws but i'm really excited for a new game by dontnod.
I loved Remember Me. It never unlocked it's full potential though, and I was sad about that. But I'm excite about this. Hopefully the devs will be able to step it up a bit
Remember Me was a fantastic game with an excellent combat system. IMO second best after the Arkham series and closely followed by Sleeping Dogs. It reminded me a lot of Enslaved (jumping mechanic + control feel, another overlooked gem.
Can't wait for this.
Sounds interesting I may keep an eye on this.
Sounds really interesting, I will be watching out for this.
