The lights are on
Mighty No. 9, from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, had a hugely successful Kickstarter run, but it is looking to raise more money to make the game even larger.
The game's Kickstarter raised nearly $4 million dollars, easily blowing past its $900,000 goal last year. The new fundraising campaign is being held outside of Kickstarter and is being used to add even more features to the game. Director Inafune assures in a video (which you can see below) that the funds initially raised will take the game to completion as originally promised, but this new Paypal powered fundraising will add even more features, and give those who missed the Kickstarter a chance to pre-order the game. The first goal, set at $100,000, will add full English voice-over to the game. For more on the new fundraising efforts, head here.
Alongside the new fundraising comes the announcement of an animated Mighty No. 9 TV show. You can see the first teaser for it below from production company Digital Frontier. Game developer Comcept is involved in the show's creation, but the animated show is a completely separate entity from the development of the game. More details are promised to be revealed for the show soon.

So excited for this game.
haha that trailer for the animated series looks pretty cool. I like the valve on his head. hopefully the game and it well be awesome to the max!!
I didnt get the chance to donate before, so im definitely gonna donate whatever I can now.
I dont know why people are so mad about this, he is just saying that a lot of people said they wanted to help too but missed the chance to be donate at kickstarter, so he is just giving those people the option to donate and adding some goodies along the way.
Can't wait to get this game and some of the other goodies.
I'm really looking forward to this game, but if what's shown in the trailer is how Mighty talks... I sorta hope they don't meet their goal and add English voice-over.
Meh, focus on making the game actually good.
Looks Mighty great!
At this point it feels like Keiji Inafune is just messing with us.
I have no doubt he'll raise that money, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
The Animated series would be cool, But I would wait until the game is released to see if it is received well. Then again, the series might not turn out too well. This reminds me of Sonic Boom where they're having a game and the T.V series come out, but your not really sure if either of them are good, or if one does really well, but the other one hinders it. I'm still planning to get Mighty No. 9, I just think they should focus on one thing at a time. I guess we'll find out when they come out.
Whoa, now a show of something like this I would ACTUALLY watch! I don't even care how kid-oriented it might be! Count me in.
