The lights are on
Sony Online’s next big project is the zombie-survival MMO, H1Z1. At first glance, you’ll likely get a strong Day Z vibe, but game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt shows what makes it unique.
H1Z1 combines crafting and construction with the “dropped in the woods” concept that Dean Hall’s Day Z introduced. Sony Online is designing some of the game elements, but the emergent AI means that you’ll never know exactly what to expect from the world.
In the demo, you’ll get a sense for the crafting, construction, and some of the survival elements. For instance, you can use a dew collector to capture fresh water. Alternatively, you can collect dirty water (which trades health for hydration if you drink it) and then filter with charcoal filters or boil in order to purify it.
H1Z1 will keep players on their toes, with each day having different weather. The environment will also react to the different weather. For instance, You can stay dry under trees in order to light a campfire and keep warm.

I will give it a shot.
I tried DayZ and I was disappointed. I love the concept but that game has too many performance issues, too many bugs, and controls like a shopping cart. All of that was just too much and it killed my enjoyment.
If this is a more polished DayZ with some new ideas then it is worth a look for me.
Looking fairly boring and far too similar to games like DayZ.
Wow. That actually looks pretty awesome. Never been a fan of MMO or pseudo survival sims like DayZ, Rust etc. But this seems like it may have some possibilities. Might want to check this out at some point.
Still kind of sucks that this is a rip of some dudes hardwork. Sony really needs to get out of the "me too" banner.
I'll give it a try. Been playing 7D2D lately and it's got me back into survival sandbox games lol.
They need to release this on PS4, this would be the first survival zombie MMO we have ever had--they would make so much money
It seems like everything this is trying for has already been done. "crafting", "Emergent AI", "construction". How many games are just going to drag these concepts along?
This game could be the game that makes me get a PS4.
another DayZ copy that still looks like ***, the trend is overdue time to move on
Meh. Looks crappy, and quite honestly, pretty boring.
first off, it's free there nothing to complain about, just try it and if you don't like it then move on...second there was a deer on top of a column when drove through the bridge, LOL!! around 4:53
I've just never been able to get into games like Day Z or this, I like the classic gaming model.
I'll definitely give it a shot if/when it comes to PS4...but I'd much rather DayZ come to PS4 instead.
