Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

A Release Date Is A Perfect Reason For A Harmonix-Infused Dance Break

It’s a wonderful night for a moon dance (break), as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has a release date ahead of its E3 appearance. You won’t be surprised to find out that it’s coming in October. Isn’t everything?

The new E3 trailer for the Gearbox and 2K Australia team-up features the four new characters who are working for Handsome Jack. It also shows off vehicles, new weapon types, and argyle guns (for the fashionable among you).

Gearbox and 2K Australia enlisted the help of Dance Central studio Harmonix for a choreographed dance break. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is out on October 14 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. You can read more in our first preview of the title.

Those that pre-order will get access to the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit. This arena-style DLC will award loot to those that survive the toughest enemies on Pandora’s moon, Elpis.

  • October? Oh boy. I'm super excited for this, though! edit: OMG is that a freezer dinosaur in that first image?! like in blue stinger?!
  • PlayStation 3 and PS3? Did you mean PC (I hope)
  • The song is "Acrylics" by TNGHT if anyone was wondering.
  • Why not November? I'm not a huge fan of borderlands but I look forward to giving this a go.
  • Sux it's coming out for last gen...I moved my 360 into my sons room :(
  • Oh my god. Can't wait!

  • I'm looking forward to buying this, but I'm not sure which version to get. My friends are on 360, but the graphics would be a little better on PC. I've also heard there are more cheaters on the PC version on BL2. But, there are modders on both systems. I've seen people shooting legendaries out of their assault rifle on the 360 version.
  • Oh my, can't wait! I'm so excited.

  • Man I can't wait. This looks like it would be a lot of fun.

  • meh, not feeling the same vibe/excitement I had when 2 was announced. I'll keep an eye out for it but not an insta-buy for me.
  • Can't wait to get this on Steam. I really like the personal storylines they're going with this time around.

  • Maybe I'll buy it later once its dropped in price. I really think 2 was overhyped since it basically just turned into the same, repetitive like 3-4 quest variations...

  • I love Borderlands, but when this game was announced I didn't feel as hyped for it than its previous entries.

  • Another October release? Do these publishers not realize that October is crammed with game releases and that we don't have money to spend on all of their games even if we wanted to?
  • October, seriously?!?! Okay, the Arkham Knight hauled but to 2015 but it still doesn't make releasing your game in Crampedtober a good idea. Ugh LMFAO at the group dancing in the video. My October order if games is going to be Inquisition, Mordor, Alien: Isolation and then this.

  • Ooh I can't wait! I squealed like a little girl when I saw the article. Annoying video though.

  • Might be one I wait for a sale on... I love me some borderlands, but playing by myself gets old and since as far as I know, there is no loot system in place other than loot drops, whoever gets it, gets it, I am not sure I want to spend 100+ hours on another borderlands game. Give me a loot system like diablo 3 and I will most definitely be in.
  • Gonna enjoy this but it does look like a deluxe DLC package...its just way too similar looking to BL2

  • Why is there no talk of a collector's edition yet?

  • Jovial fear pooping! If any game can convince me to make a purchase, it's borderlands. But not this time guys...
