The Sims 4

Giving Creators More Control

A new trailer for The Sims 4 shows us more about the new ways to create Sims that look and act how you want them to. In the past, players had to traverse a number of menus to tweak the looks of their digital playmates. Now, everything is handled in one place.

Hovering over different facial features shows what can be manipulated. By grabbing and moving the mouse, you’ll be able to more easily adjust how the Sims look.

Additionally, giving them personality traits and aspirations will define how they react in social situations. The trailer hints at new build tools for homes, but those will be revealed later.

The Sims 4 is coming to PC in fall 2014 (bumped out of the spring slot by Titanfall, according to EA). For more, check out our preview from Gamescom.

  • Cool, mind races to think of what the community will make with this.

  • LOL there was a very brief time in my life where I really enjoyed The Sims... not anymore though. Maybe some new and exciting can bring me back. There are just so many good life sim like games, though.
  • Ah The Sims...one of the very few game series I actually prefer to play on PC rather than console. Character creation does for sure look a lot easier!
  • Wow, getting a lot of mileage out of this old beater.

  • And they finally give us almost complete control of how big a female sim's breasts are when we create them.
  • I've never really tried to play a sims game. Is the whole point to watch what they do, or is there something more that I'm doing, like creating disasters that they have to endure?
  • The Sims 4 is coming to PC in fall 2014 (bumped out of the spring slot by Titanfall. Well they made the right call as these games clearly have the same player base.
  • Maxis is not capable to make great games anymore. Not when this developer become EA's b%tch.
  • Nope not buying it. The Sims games are way too addicting and I end up wasting a ton of money on them every time. We'll you won't be getting my money this time EA! But seriously, those games are addicting and for that reason I think I'll pass on The Sims 4.

  • I used to love Sims, until one day I was playing and went full meta.

I made a character based on myself and put him in college top study precisely what I study. So at one point I was watching him playing on the computer while avoiding to study and it was extremely awkward, because I was doing the exact same thing. Needless to say I never played again.

I would like to play Sims 4 but honestly, my problem with it is that you buy the base game and it lacks a lot of stuff that was integrated to the earlier installment via Expansion Packs. And then if you want that stuff you have to pay for the same Expansion, again.

  • Bigger boobs.

  • Where does the girl in the top picture store her internal organs?
  • I wonder if this level of detail is what caused it to get that 18+ rating overseas? lol

  • Can this come out nowwwww

  • I really wish they'd abandon the cartoon look of this series.

  • can't wait to see more games that have the whole head and body customization implement this so it's much easier to make a character, I hate using a bunch of sliders

  • Maybe they could release some trailers to show how it will work on consoles?

  • Mila Kunis 1:22ish lol

Are piercings back? (work comp keeps crashing the video player so I didn't get to finish it lol)

  • I dont wanna wait, for a new sims to be over

  • Hype! Too bad my PC can't handle it.
