Depths of Fear: Knossos

Depths of Fear: Knossos Video Crosses Greek Mythology With Classic Movie Trailer Aesthetic

Depths of Fear: Knossos is an upcoming roguelike that takes its cues from classic Greek mythology.

You can check out the trailer for the game below, which places the player in the role of Theseus, son of Poseidon on his journey to track down and kill the legendary Minotaur of Knossos in a procedurally generated labyrinth. Along with the Minotaur, you will also encounter Satyrs, Cerberus, Centaurs, Manticores, Griffins, Medusa, and Hydras among many other enemy types.

The game isn't out quite yet, but developer Dirigo Games and publisher Digital Tribe expects the game to be available this month on Steam. In the meantime, you can purchase or stream the game's soundtrack here, which you can get a sample of in the exclusive trailer below.

  • wait...so is it lame...on purpose? I'm so confused
  • Yes. Just yes. The very fact they know that it's in Knossos, Crete is more than enough to make me excited. Any developer that tackles both the interesting tales of Greek Mythology AND does their research gets points in my book. EDIT: It's literally a remake of the Clash of Titans trailer from 1981 as well, seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBB5L8t-0Co Direct quotes ripped from there, and structure. I'm so hyped.
  • "The Specticle?" LOL. Really? I'd have to see more, but spelling errors don't encourage me.
  • Okay before I start choking ppl someone please tell me wtf does "rougelike" mean??????????????????
  • Not too sure if I should be interested in the game, but the trailer was worth a chuckle at least.

  • Would probably play this if it got ported, if not then I'd get to it one day.

  • Uhh... why is Cerberus in the Labyrinth? Ah, screw it. This game looks good anyway.
