Get Even Teaser Trailer Challenges You To Guess What Is Real

The Farm 51 announced its new FPS, Get Even, near the tail end of December, and now the studio has released a teaser trailer for the game. The clip switches between real-life and computer-generated footage, oftentimes making it easy to confuse the two.

The game is being developed for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with the goal of delivering photorealistic visuals. Take a look at the clip below and decide for yourself if they're on the right track.

“As an independent developer, it would be foolish to go head-to-head with the larger companies and create a ‘me too’ knock-off, and frankly we wouldn’t be interested in doing it," says Wojtek Pazdur, CEO of The Farm 51. "We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player – those are the people we are going for with Get Even.”

In addition to the impressive visual goals, Get Even will feature an array of high-tech weapons to aid characters on their quest for revenge. They include a smartphone with offense-enhancing apps, as well as firearms that allow players to shoot opponents from around the corner. The game allows players to seamlessly invade other players' games during single-player missions, so you won't know whether the enemy you have down your sights (or around the corner) is an actual human or an AI.

The Farm 51 plans to release Get Even in 2015, with digital distribution in mind.

  • Very interesting idea.

  • When I actually see it in action I will believe it.

  • "We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player – those are the people we are going for with Get Even.” Thank you. This game will be for those like me. Loving the look and this is definitely impressive visually.
  • I don't know what they were trying to sell with that video, because that was a messy trailer.
  • This is horrible PR. I want to know something about the game not just the tech behind it. Im not going to remember this will the billion of other images I see everyday. Give me something to hold onto instead of just hype.

  • Another game that includes online griefing of other players single player games. Why has this become such a po***r feature to include? I don't want other people interfering in my single player games.
  • Sounds like what Watch Dogs is doing with the entering someone else's single-player experience. I can't even have an opinion on this game because all we know is that the graphics are ambitious and the tech in game is futuristic. I am optimistic though. Un-related note- Did anybody know about Evolve before yesterday?
  • Give these guys some credit!  The ambitious gameplay style sounds like fun and they are not a AAA developer and yet still put together a graphical masterpiece like that!  I'm impressed and trying to not get anxious about learning more soon, seeing as how I will have to wait for over a year.

  • Man, what is real? So full of philosophical thingies right now...

  • Huh... can't say I'm interested. The trailer looks very slick and the graphics depicted are indeed photorealistic, but the concept of the game just doesn't hook me. Honestly, the vibe I'm getting from the game as it's described sounds an awful lot like a Counter Strike, which certainly has a po***r niche, but it's not one I have any interest in exploring further. Still, I can certainly see how what they're going for - if they can deliver mind you - with Get Even would appeal to those who enjoy the genre of hyperrealistic competitive shooters. 2015 is looking good for a lot of people.

  • I don't know, it was pretty easy to tell what was CG and what was real.

  • I don't know if i'm the only one who noticed this, but look at the picture: it shows the guy being shot and executed on the little screen before he is actually shot in the picture.....weird!
  • I hate the whole idea of Multiplayer invasions. I really hope it will be an optional thing.

  • So, Syndicate but with a different name so people will actually ****ing buy it? I'm sold.

  • Oh wow another military based, photo-realistic shooters. I have been saying for years that we need some of these games but no one else seems to be making them. PTC (pardon the cynicism)but you would think with as much work as it takes to make a game and how much money it takes to fund them that people would stop making these games, or rather making new IPs in this sub-genre. Battlefield and Call of Duty already hold so much of this market, but other less than stellar games of this genre continue to sell well, like Homefront.
  • Man, with graphics like these, I might actually start getting uncomfortable with shooting people in this game because they look so real.

  • I like photorealistic textures in games, I use them in oblivion and skyrim and they´re amazing.

  • Well now after reading this 2014 just got underway & this doesn't come out for a year or more. Not really interested in it only in what's coming out this year.

  • Kinda cool, I'm not really sure what to think.
