The lights are on
Battlefield Hardline may be delayed into 2015, but that's not stopping Visceral Games from sharing new details about the game. At a Comic-Con panel in San Diego, the studio shed light on the steps it's taking to make an impactful narrative, something the series has largely struggled with to date.
To aid in the efforts, EA has enlisted a deep roster of Hollywood help, including narrative consultant Wendy Calhoun (Justified), performance director Bill Johnson (West Wing), and actors Eugene Byrd (Bones), Kelly Hu (Nash Bridges), and Benito Martinez (Sons of Anarchy).
The story follows a cop who becomes a vigilante after being framed, kicked off the force, and sent to prison. Along the redemption tale, players will journey from inner cities to desert drug warehouses, confronting criminals and corrupt cops alike. For information about the panel and how creative director Ian Milham views the recent delay as a blessing, head over to Polygon.
Our TakeHiring Hollywood talent always sounds good on paper, but their inclusion doesn't always equate to a good story. With Dead Space under its credits, Visceral certainly has better ground to stand on that DICE when it comes to single-player campaigns, but we're definitely in wait and see mode with this game.

Hopefully that shakes out well, it could be great if they go for a cheesy cop show vibe with that daytime television aesthetic.
Hollywood Talent let me guess at this one... Erik Estrada LMAO
Need i remind everyone of those few years about a decade ago in which Hollywood thought it was time to show people how "real" stories are made?
And we ended up with games that had high production values, and played like garbage?
Actually, come to think of it, that might go hand and hand with EA.
I don't care it got delayed, so long as they avoid a BF4 Launch-like fiasco.
As for the Hollywood talent, well... i think i will expect some Michael Bay-type stuff and i will not care much about the main character.
i have faith in game
more than cod aw
but my friends say that hardline wont be successful
it would be better to create a other name(new ip)for this game
Pass
Figured it would be Michael Bay...
You know what? I thought this game would be lame, but given the delay and this, I might really like this game. Two thumbs up.
OMG good cop gets framed goes to jail becomes vigilante, that is so cliche and is predictable come up with something thats new for once! A 3 year old could have come up with a better plot to this game...
every things getting pushed back i mean damn what the hell
Is this needed? Visceral has always been good at telling stories all on it's own. The Dead Space trilogy, despite some problems, was one of my all time favorite franchises last gen.
I love BF games but only for the MP, cause the SP has always underwhelmed me. But Visceral is an amazing studio that knows how to make proper SP games. If anyone can make a good SP campaign for the BF series, I believe it'll be them. I have high hopes for this game.
