The lights are on
This year’s Skylanders army will be joined by new versions of Spyro’s Adventure characters. The original poses will be getting a high-end finish as part of the Eon’s Elite line.
Eight of these characters will be available in limited quantities, beginning with Spyro and Chop Chop (we suspect there will be one from each of the eight elements). The figures have a metallic sheen, gold base, and a display case with a lenticular backing.
The figures are usable in-game and are more powerful than other versions of those characters. Eon’s Elite figures will be limited in quantity and available at GameStop and EB Games (Disclaimer: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company) in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Europeans will be able to secure them at as yet unannounced retailers.
No price point has been announced for the Eon’s Elite figures yet. Skylanders: Trap Team will be out on October 5 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS. For more, check out the recently announced Dark Edition and our preview from E3.
Oh, WOW!!!
That face of Spyro's says so much. Why, why are they exploiting me? Or he's just high as heck.
I played the first game and bought the 3 pack of legendary characters because I like gold. I beat the game and I was gated from a lot of content because I didn't have one of the characters from an element.
I haven't bothered with any of the other games but Chop Chop was my favorite. The legendary version of him inverted the blue with gold and vice versa. It's pretty cool they picked to make an elite version of him instead of all the other characters.
I'm not impressed though because his sword and everything is just regular and not even as cool as the legendary version. I can't even really see the metallic sheen and the gold base isn't super cool. I'd give $20 at the most.
Pay2win.
sypro looks like: "oh ye'? elite?"
I still want to know who the hell came up with that design for Spyro, and how it got approved.
