Sony is kicking off its 2014 Play Sale next week, with four indie titles coming to the service over four weeks. All four titles are cross-buy across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita. Best of all, the more you buy, the more you save.

The four titles that are included are Rogue Legacy on July 29, The Swapper on August 5, Hohokum on August 12, and Counterspy on August 19. All are available for pre-order now at 20 percent discount for PlayStation Plus members.

If you buy multiple games, you’ll get credit on future purchases (with vouchers delivered by September 5 and good for about a month). If you purchase two games, you’ll get $3 back. Three games earns you $6. Buying all four gets you $10 back on a total purchase of $53.56 (plus applicable tax) if you pre-order. That total goes up to a maximum of $66.96 if you purchase all of them without pre-ordering.

Our Take
I enjoy these summer sales, even if I only purchase one or two titles. They are a great opportunity to highlight titles that would otherwise be overlooked and it happens when the competition is fairly minimal. I just wish Microsoft were still doing its Summer of Arcade promotion, as some great titles made their debuts during those events.
