The lights are on
Hearthstone continues to win hearts, minds, and wallets, especially in the Game Informer offices. To suggest we’re interested in the upcoming Curse of Naxxramas expansion might be an understatement.
According to Hearthstone community manager “Aratil,” the release is planned for next month, but not set in stone. “Just wanted to give everyone a head's up that we are currently targeting to release Curse of Naxxramas during the month of July,” Aratil says. “Unfortunately, we still have a lot of implementing and bug fixing to get through, so please stay tuned!”
The expansion will bring a single-player component to the title, in addition to new cards. There are five “wings” to the dungeon, and defeating each will net you a legendary card. The first piece of the expansion will be free for all players, with others unlocked via in-game gold or real-world cash. Curse of Naxxramas pricing will be discussed on Tuesday, July 1. We’ll have more details then.

Our TakeI need to spend more time (and more money) with Hearthstone. There are things I really enjoy about the game, but I wish there were more to do on opponents’ turns (like in Magic: The Gathering). At the same time, I recognize that expansions add new mechanics that allow for new strategies and deck builds, which are the things I love about CCGs.
