The lights are on
There's been a lot of bad financial news in the industry lately, but Capcom has bucked the trend with its year-end report.
For the financial year ending in March, Capcom's net income was up 15.9 percent to $34 million and net sales were up 8.6 percent to $1 billion.
The good news was credited to Dead Rising 3, and Xbox One exclusive which sold 1.3 million units since launch. Although marginal in the West, the Monster Hunter 4 continued to be a huge profit center for Capcom, selling 4.1 million copies, largely in Japan and South Korea.
Capcom didn't site specific figures, but claimed to be satisfied with sales for Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, and DuckTales Remastered. It also said that Lost Planet 3's sales were "below expectations."

Our Take:It's great to see a venerable Japanese company like Capcom posting strong sales. The company seems to do a good job of balancing products aimed at both the West and Japan.
