The lights are on
RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, the first numbered entry in the theme park building franchise in almost a decade, is playable now on iOS devices. The PC version of the game will be released sometimes during holiday 2014, and will include multiplayer.
You can download the mobile version for $2.99 now. RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is developed by On5 games and comes with built-in Facebook and Apple Game Center integration. The game also includes more than $5 worth of the game's premium currency and an assortment of pre-designed rollercoasters and rides.
Atari CEO Fred Chesnais says in a press statement that beyond RollerCoaster Tycoon 4, the company has a "long-term plan to bring the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise to a new level."
Our Take:Fans of RollerCoaster Tycoon were less than thrilled when the game's mobile and social focus was revealed last month. Even though the game is coming out on PC later this year, it remains to be seen if this will be the classic RollerCoaster Tycoon fans remember and love.
