The lights are on
Nintendo has revealed the release windows for Super Smash Bros. on 3DS and Wii U. The 3DS version will be coming in the summer. The home version will arrive this winter.
On the 3DS, fighters will move at 60 frames per second in stereoscopic 3D. The assist trophies and items will only refresh at 30 frames per second.
We have details on the stages coming to both versions:
Online PlayThe Wii U version will feature online play in two formats. For Fun will allow players to set the rules and the stages in any way they want. For Glory will only take place on the Final Destination stage and other levels with the same flat format (no elevated stages). Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai recommends a wired connection via the Wii LAN adapter. The 3DS version will also support online play.
Custom MovesetsNintendo is giving fans a chance to customize their characters even more than in past installments. When playing online with friends or locally, you'll be able to use characters with custom move sets. Nintendo didn't say much about the feature, promising that more info will be coming later.
