The lights are on
Earlier this week, a number of details leaked online about a new installment of the Assassin's Creed franchise with the subtitle Unity taking place during the French Revolution. Ubisoft has confirmed the game's existence, and released some teaser footage showing the game in motion.
The description for the video appearing on YouTube reads, "We have been working on the new Assassin's Creed for more than three years and although we weren't quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand! So here's a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin's Creed Unity. Stay tuned - we'll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead!"
You can check out the short video below, which reveals the location and the look of this entry's assassin protagonist.

Our TakeI'm happy to see Ubisoft embrace the leak that occurred earlier this week. There is no reason to pretend it didn't happen, and this video gives a worthwhile taste of what's coming next for the series.

So by abstergo, they mean kotaku, right?
I have never played an assassin's creed game all the way through, or ever owned one, but I have always thought II was the best, and that the series has been going downhill from there. To me this looks like it could be a return to what made assassin's creed so popular, and hopefully will revive the series (especially after the miserable failure IV is supposed to be).
I want it on ps3, pllllllllz ...
I'm not a big fan of the AC series but I have played through most of them and have sunk over 80 hours on Black Flag because it's awesome so I'm looking forward to the next installment. I'm still holding out for an AC game set in a more modern/near future setting though because muskets, throwing knives and smoke bombs are getting stale. I want cloaking devices, ray guns and grappling rifles.
Yet another Assassin's Creed game. What a surprise.
Another AC game. Joy
This looks great, cant wait to be in this world. Going to be a lot of fun.
I wonder what new mechanics they'll bring to the table. With the setting I doubt we'll boats and an open ocean to sail so they're gonna have to make up for somehow. Wouldn't want your newest game to have less gameplay functionality than your last would you?
I really hope Ubisoft will take some risks with this game.
I was let down by AC 3 and skipped Black Flag, but I am strangely excited for this.
France? Nice!
Doesn't anyone have AC fatigue yet?
Say what there is already a trailer for the next AC game. These games in the series coming out every year will run its course.you watch then they are going to have to think of a way to reinvent the genre.
The French Revolution is a fascinating point in history, though it poses the same risk as Assassin's Creed III. It would be a little far fetched for one man to play a major part in every notable event from this time period. Let's hope Ubisoft takes a more subtle approach with this game.
