The lights are on
In just seven days, Naughty Dog will be releasing story DLC for its award-winning The Last of Us. This might not be the end for that world, though.
Speaking with Eurogamer, creative director Neil Druckmann talked about what he and game director Bruce Straley have been thinking about. “"We have started brainstorming some stuff,” Druckmann says. “To be honest, some of them are sequel ideas, and some of them are brand new IP - we've spent the last few weeks brainstorming new IP.”
For those concerned about what this means for the studio’s work on Uncharted, rest easy. Naughty Dog has two development teams, with one devoted to the action/adventure series.
As for oft-requested PlayStation 4 version of The Last of Us, Druckmann didn’t close the door. “It's something that we'll figure out as we move forward,” he says.

Our TakeI’m in the “no sequel” camp. I thought the story, while certainly not encompassing of The Last of Us’ world, was complete. The characterization and the importance of the characters in that narrative felt whole (though I’m interested in seeing how the prequel DLC fares). Naughty Dog is expert at creating compelling worlds, and I want to see where the great minds there go next.
