Epic Games And UK School Open Epic Games Centre

Epic Games, the studio behind Gears of War, is furthering its relationship with academia with a new organization aimed to unite classrooms with professional game developers.

The Epic Games Centre is opening in collaboration with the United Kingdom-based Staffordshire University. Epic Games will be providing hardware, teaching time, and software to the 500 students enrolled in Staffordshire’s eight unique game design courses.

Our Take
Epic’s Unreal Engine has been a fixture in many game development programs over the years, so this union is a logical step for the company. Having skilled minds behind some of the industry’s biggest titles working with future game developers is a great way to pass on knowledge to a new generation.
