The lights are on
Update: Unfortunately, this deal has now expired.
[Original Story]
A new coupon code allows you to pick-up the Kickstarter-funded Android console for a bargain price.
Ouya was already positioned as a low-cost alternative to the current consoles on the market, and now its price just dropped. To commemorate the launch of the game Killing Floor: Calamity (developed by Tripwire Interactive), you can input the code "calamity" on the Ouya sales page and get a unit for $59.99 plus free shipping. (You'll have to go through most of the buying process before you can enter the code.)
This sale likely won't be permanent, so act fast if you want to take advantage.

Our Take:At $59.99, the Ouya verges even further into the realm of "impulse buy." Heck, it's as cheap as a new game for another console. While I'm not sure that the Ouya has much of a future, at this point if you just want to run emulators on your TV and play Towerfall it's probably a decent buy.
My PC does more emulation than the OUYA could ever do. $60 is still not an impulse buy. If I ever got it, I'd be reminded of how annoying it was to spend $ on it as bad as I am reminded of an area of itch I shouldn't scratch. Hell I haven't even seen one OUYA unit in my city since it's launch. And my buddies around the USA and Canada both constantly takes pick of shelves still stocked despite the $60 price tag.
They'd have to pay me before I'd get one.
Ouno.
Ehh. I still don't know.
Useless system trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
Poor Ouya.....
it would cost to much to buy even if it was for free.
I'd go for this, if I had the money. I'm too strapped from Black Friday and Christmas shopping. The one thing I worry about though, is their planned obsolescence. I don't know if they made enough money to keep with the plan, but they wanted to make a new model every year (like Android phones). If that's the case, I wouldn't buy this, even at the lower price point. I'd wait until a definitive version with a solid library launches, and with how poorly the first iteration did... I don't expect that to ever really happen.
I am sure there are Ouya fans out there. I will probably not take it, even if it is free. It just does not appeal to me as a gamer. I do play a lot of casual games, but don't fancy playing them on the big TV.
