The beta for the PlayStation 3 version of Dark Souls II was supposed to begin this morning, but it didn't happen and Namco Bandai has offered an apology.

It's unclear exactly what prevented the beta from launching, but Namco Bandai was quick to apologize, and assure all those involved that their beta spots are still secure.

It's unfortunate that things didn't go as planned for the beta, but this is the kind of thing betas are for: to fix problems before the game's release. Namco Bandai has offered a thorough and quick apology, and it sounds like it is on the case to get it fixed.
