The lights are on
Zombie Studios announced last week that State of Decay has hit one million players across Xbox 360 and PC. The first DLC pack is also coming very soon.
Breakdown is the name of the first pack, and it is currently in the certification process. Content is complete and it's a matter of balancing and bug removal.
The plan is to submit for final certification by the end of next week. This assumes no major bugs found in pre-certification screening. If all goes well, the wildly popular title will get its first DLC pack before you can say "trick or treat" (that is to say that it should be here before the end of October).

Our TakeIf there's one game I regret not having put more time into (yet), it's State of Decay. It's ambitious, immersive, and a lot of fun.
Breakdown is slated to ramp up the difficulty over time by making players more fatigued, increase the instance of special zombies, reduce the number of viable vehicles, and drain out the resources. If you've mastered State of Decay, Breakdown is the challenge you have been waiting for.
I need to get this game. Looks super fun, but GTA V still has all my game time, and within a few weeks I'll have atleast two other giant games to be playing.
B..but..what about the Sandbox mode?!?
I agree with you about regretting not putting time into State of Decay. I bought it for PC, and only played it for an hour. I bought it in the wake of a bunch of other big games like GTA V and Wind Waker HD, so once I finish WW, I would love to get back to it.
Gasp! I completely forgot I had this on my Xbox!
I thought they were making sandbox mode?
This game deserves more attention.
I really enjoyed State of Decay. I really hope they make another one, if it would be an MMORPG that would be really cool. I would be curious about how they would have each player interact. State of Decay is very story heavy and every time that it go back I have to figure out how everything is going and see what I need to continue on the next mission.
I liked this game until I stopped playing for a week. And when I came back, characters were dead, my resources were all gone, and the *** had hit the fan without me even playing. No thanks.
I agree, Mike. I wish I would've given SoD more time. This game was fun, but I never finished it. Heck....I don't even think I got to the middle of the game! I wanna get back in it, but I've been collecting old titles I never got to play & all the new games that came out keep getting in the way of me returning to SoD. I'll eventually pick this one back up, but I don't know when that will be!
It's technically not out for PC yet. It's in alpha or beta or whatever they are calling it on steam, but the product isn't finished yet.
Guys, the Breakdown DLC IS Sandbox mode, it gets harder and harder when you leave the map and go to a "new" area, which is just the same map. Think of it as Sandbox with New Game+ when you're done with everything on the map and want a fresh, harder challenge.
I played the free demo but just didnt get into it at much. But this is the "Walking Dead" model I was looking for. Searching for materials, trying to get a base camp. Maybe it is time I go get it and play this game and give it the chance it deserves.
The game is dope but really short and buggy
