The lights are on
DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson says that the Bad Company franchise still has a future.
When asked about the possibility of a new Bad Company game in an interview with Polygon, Gustavsson said, "I love it. I want to see it again. Whether it can happen [right] now with the newly announced Mirrors Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront... but we'll see."
Despite the company's full dance card, he says that the franchise is still very much alive: "Trust me, the Bad Company [team] isn't forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation. They are out there, they're coming back."

Our Take:While I appreciate the multiplayer depth that the main Battlefield games bring to the table, to be honest I have to say that the less serious, more gonzo Bad Company franchise is more my speed. So, I'm glad that it hasn't been forgotten. Still, given his quote about Mirror's Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront, I'm not exactly holding my breath.
I MISS BLOWING UP BUILDINGS... THIS IS GOOD NEWS, GREAT NEWS.
I hope they make it some time soon, but I'm looking forward to Battlefront more than anything.
Probably releases next year to compete with whatever COD is out there, given that Moh is going on a long hiatus.
Very stoked to read this! Not entirely clear when, but this is a fun series and I was expecting this before BF4 especially with BF3 so closely released. My thoughts are they decided BF4 first since there was a next gen console release year upon us, and they would do more with that!
The Bad Company comedy is something I miss. Glad to hear it's not dead, even though it sounds like it's going to be a while longer before coming out.
YES.
I like the Bad Companies far more than the main entry Battlefields. They were funny, and game play just felt better and more fun.
Wait, people are doubting a Bad Company 3? Really? With Mirror's Edge 2 being developed due to the extreme fanbase, given Bad Company's extreme love by FPS gamers I would've been surprised if they weren't planning on it. I agree with the "later than now" thought of mind though. Maybe we'll get it in 3-4 years when the next-gen consoles are better understood, giving us a better game over-all.
I really want another BC game, but it better feel like BC. BF 3 was a huge disappointment for me and I don't want to see BFBC3 suffer the same fate.
Sweetness!
Bad Company 2 had such good multiplayer. I have so many good memories from it. (Also, the campaign was enjoyable too...its just dropping buildings on people never gets old)
