The lights are on
Microsoft has finally announced a piece of information we've been waiting for since the Xbox One was first revealed in May. We've known the console is arriving in November, but now we have an exact date. This morning, Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox One will be available in the United States, Canada, and 11 other countries on November 22, 2013. At that point, all major third-party, next generation titles planned for this fall will be ready and available. This includes Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Skylanders: Swap Force.
First party launch titles include, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Lococycle, and Ryse: Son of Rome. Dead Rising 3 from Capcom is also anticipated on day one. The Xbox One will be available for $499.99.
[Source: Xbox Wire]Our TakeThis is very surprising. Microsoft will be launching one week after the PlayStation 4, instead of earlier as many (including me) suspected. The company revealed yesterday that it had bumped up the CPU speed and was well into production, making the late launch date even more unexpected. It's great to finally have a release date, but ceding the timing advantage to Sony (in North America, but not Europe) makes me wonder what's going on over at Microsoft.
Not gonna lie I really wanted to play my Xbox One before my PS4 but still it's just so great to finally know.
This is cool. glad im already paid off and waiting.
I wonder if they're trying to ride out PS4's success? A friend and I were discussing about this earlier today...
interesting, the supposed nov 5 date alongside cod sounded reasonable to me, so this is surprising.
Its funny how biased people are right now, where people complain about the RRoD, but forget the 800$ PS3, and how it overheated easily. I'm so tired of these consoles i just want them to be done with. Pretty soon we will all hate Sony like when they got hacked. Maybe you guys could see that both sides have their issues, instead of drinking the sony kool-aid
Doesn't matter, still going to get the PS4
all I have to say is 8 controllers and plans for external hard drives enough said for me.
This ought to be interesting...
They're doing the Eminem approach, you go first, I'll go second.
I'll be getting the X1 after the PS4 (and a price drop/no kinect, AND more, better games come out. The only two I would buy would be Killer Instinct and Forza me thinks.
BUT I can't get either yet this year so I'll be happy with my PS3, GTA V, and Watch_Dogs. To everyone else getting your consoles, don't be shooting each other in line this time and enjoy your shiny new boxes.
I'll still be playing GTA V and pokemon with my kids. Wake me up when something better comes out. Like Skyrim 2! Lol ;)
Never buy a system day one....
this is clever on microsofts part. If the release was anounced as a week before PS4 everyone would have complained they were trying to boost sales. I would have released on the same day as ps4 just for lols.
also, does it seriously support 8 controllers. WTF who has a tv big enough to make that many split screens useful
annnnnd... wait... mailing address... credit card info... blah blah blah... PREORDERED!
This should be interesting.
Gonna be one hell of a November! Vidya games!
The 22nd release date makes sense in Europe
