The lights are on
At Sony's Gamescom conference today, a price drop for the Vita and memory cards was announced.
The PlayStation Vita will now cost $200 and 200 euros. Sony also confirmed plans to price drop its Vita memory cards.
This is great news for those who were on the fence about buying the handheld, and even better for those looking to upgrade their storage space, especially with more options to buy games digitally.
Is this enough to finally make you splurge on a Vita? Let us know in the comments below!

It's about damn time. A price drop on the Vita and memory cards are long overdue. There may not be a killer app for me personally yet, but there are enough games that I want to play that I can finally justify the purchase.
About time they lowered the gougingly high prices on those memory cards.
GREAT!
Didnt realise it was more than 199 already.
I still want one of these bad boys, and now even more with the price drop! But, I can't pull myself away from my 3ds at the moment. I wouldn't trade my 3ds in for the Vita, I just buy the new vita, but there are too many games for me to play on the 3ds.
I'd like to see some specifics on how much they're cutting the memory card options, but Amazon's already running some discounts. I've never understood why they felt the need to charge me so much for a card that would allow me to buy more of their stuff.
Silly Sony.
No
can anyone say "Finally?"
This is great! I've been wanting to get a 32GB card for a while now, and now that the price is being dropped it looks pretty good.
It's not an instant money-grabber, but it's definitely a humongous step in the right direction.
No. I'm saving up for the home consoles and I already have a 3DS.
Cool, that does make getting the Vita easier. Sweet!
awesome i was about to buy a new memory card for mine, im gonna hold out and see if i cant get them cheaper
I'm happy even though I already bought a vita. It was $200 but came with 2 games, thankfully we get some memory drops now.
