The lights are on
Shadow of the Eternals isn't a game quite yet. The development studio is still waiting for assorted financial backing and Kickstarter funding, but that hasn't stopped it from discussing some of the game's mechanics.
In the video below, you can see the progress that has been made with the game, and some of the new insanity effects that will disrupt the game.
The video also covers what the studio has planned just in case Shadow of the Eternals doesn't pan out, but I think their plans might just be a test of your own sanity.
Our TakeWith five days to go and $473,000 dollars left before receiving full funding, Shadow of the Eternals looks like it may not happen. And that is without even addressing all the issues that have plagued the game outside of Kickstarter. All of that being said, I would like to play an Eternal Darkness follow-up, and the Sanity System looks like it could offer some interesting experiences. For all we know that is happening behind the scenes of this game it might still happen, but things are not looking good. Maybe we'll get that Sharknado game after all.

Sanity? Who needs sanity? Well, after playing Eternal Darkness you might need some, but oh well...
I'm really sad about all the bad press they got. I'm not exactly what all the drama was about but this game deserves to be made and looks excellent. I really wish it ends up being made!
Good luck!
That ending bit was actually really funny.
Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?
Anyways, I would love to see Reiner and Dan play this and Dan possibly freak out about what's happening. =D
I hope it gets made, the sanity thing sounds really neat.
I wish they'd hurry up and quit making this abomination.
The game actually looks really good. The Sanity system is what originally peaked my interest with Eternal Darkness, and that is one of my favorite games ever, so I'm glad I found out about this game. Everything I've seen so far is really impressive. A lot of kickstarters I've seen backed in the final days do here's hoping more people jump on board this week. If you pledge and it doesn't fund, you don't get charged. Nothing to lose.
I've been waiting for (what feels like) a geological age for some kind of sequel to Eternal Darkness. I joined their forums and was just blown away by the community created content. It would be a crying shame if this project didn't fund. I don't think I can bare another game pretending to be "survival horror" when it's just unloading bullet after bullet into recycled zombie derivatives. Sadly, the market is flooded with exactly that. Here's hoping SotE gets made!
That little trick at the end and during the video makes me think that maybe their creativity for the insanity effects will just fall flat. That was really stupid.
I like the concept of this game, I hope they get the funding they need to complete it.
Dangit, I would love to play this game...but it is looking less and less likely. Maybe they'll be able to get an actual back/publisher if this doesn't pan out [again]
Apparently tonight they are demoing a live feed of the game and demo some new stuff on Twitch TV. I think this is the best way to get a true feel for the game.
