The lights are on
In these new promotional videos videos from Microsoft, you will see close up shots and details about the Xbox One's controller, headset, and play and charge kit.
The videos also reveal small interesting details, like how the play and charge kit has an LED charge status indicator, and the headset indicates when the mute button is activated with a similar LED light.
Check out all three videos below.
Our TakeMaybe it's weird, or maybe I am just excited about new hardware, but I really like that the mute button on the headset has a light indicator when it is active. It will make it so much easier to tell if you currently have yourself muted. It's a minor annoyance – being unsure if I am on mute without a closer look – but it's one I run into enough that it makes me excited that there will be a light indicator.

I love how sleek the new controller and headset look.
Kyle, the Play and Charge kit for the X360 also has an LED on it.
Very cool. Can't wait to get my hands on this controller!
'best controller ever made'? I don't know, I liked the bulky original xbox controllers the best, not even being sarcastic about that. Guess I'll hold my opinion till I try it.
What I want to know is if there is ANY chance of a Kinect-less version coming out in the next year or so; I realize that doing away with it would likely require a good bit of redesigning (the lack of a guide button on that controller suggests just how vital the Kinect is). Do enough gamers have as many hang-ups about the Kinect as I do to force a change in that policy (and not privacy hang ups - I feel like people will eventually just accept lowered privacy, if only because that's what they've done thus far)?
I also have a genuine question for the world: do people actually find voice controls to be better than buttons? if the answer is "yes" then I don't think Kinect will ever become optional. I certainly understand that disabled persons would likely find voice controls helpful, but my gut tells me that others would not.
That looks cute.
Definitely tote not having to use disposable batteries. It's 2013. Those should have been gone, don't pat yourself on the back for something this late.
i liked them showing the mic because all the could do really was spin it around lol
PS4. Just thinking about the Kinect watching me sleep is enough to make me say no the XbOne
