The lights are on
Editors are starting to dive into new games like Defiance now that some of them have finished up BioShock Infinite. Well, they will if the game actually works this weekend.
Mike Futter: After an amazing first week at Game Informer, I feel on top of the world… so I'm going to conquer it. Civilization V is in my future. I'll also be diving back into Dead Island to prepare for the upcoming release of Deep Silver's sequel. Finally, I need to get my hands on WWE 13. Wrestlemania is this weekend, and if Dan Ryckert taught me anything, it's FAN-DAAAAN-GOOOOO.
Jeff Marchiafava: This week I’ve got two huge games on my plate: Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite. Hopefully I can finish up Lara’s latest adventure tonight, and then devote some serious time to BioShock over the rest of the weekend. Then again, I might just put my tomb-raiding shenanigans on ice and dive right into Columbia.
Kyle Hilliard: Ben Hanson assures me that I have completed four-fifths of BioShock Infinite, so I should be able to finish out Booker and Elizabth’s adventure this weekend, hopefully tonight. I am looking forward to being able to peruse Twitter and Reddit and walk around the Game Informer offices without fear of spoilers. Otherwise it’s baby watching, news writing, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate playing, and calzone eating. I have been craving calzones for some reason the past few days.
Tim Turi: This weekend I may be cranking on my reviews for the console version of Resident Evil: Revelations and Dead Island: Riptide. In my spare time I hope to grind out a few levels in Dragon Fantasy Book I and maybe a little Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Louis Garcia: Saturday is the opening match of the season for Minnesota United FC, the pro soccer team in the Twin Cities. I’ll be enjoying the festivities as well as the match, and most likely playing actual soccer as well as its virtual form. I’m guessing a lot of Wii will be played since it’s my birthday today and a number of people are visiting. I'm going to have to bust out some WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
Jason Pfitzer: This weekend I will be playing a gratuitous amount of Age of Empires 2 HD, and if I find myself in need of a break I'll start my second playthrough of Bioshock Infinite.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I will continue the fantastic tag-team of Lego City Undercover and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Lego City Undercover may be the funniest game I've ever played; I'm really loving it. It is the exact game I was waiting for on my Wii U. Outside of that, I'm curious about this whole Battleblock Theater game since I've heard the arcade mode compared to Super Smash Bros. and I'm a sucker for all things Smash-related. Have a good weekend!
Andrew Reiner: I still want to give Defiance on Xbox 360 a chance. The last time I tried logging into the game, I entered a queue that read "2 days." The time before that was "3 hours, 53 minutes." In the times when I was able to log into the game, I encountered crippling frame rate drops and graphical glitches just as much as I did enemies to defeat. The game is a mess right now. I'm hoping last night's patch fixes things. If so, that's my weekend. If not, I'm diving into my stack of games to play Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Borderlands 2's DLC.
I'll finish Far Cry 3, homework and probably going back into Tomb Raider. Maybe a little bit of Borderlands 2 too.
Luigi's mansion dark moon, torchlight II and maybe some of the injustice game for ipod in prep for the full release. I'm most excited about my reinstalling of torchlight II because I can try out the new pets(they added panda bears and headcrabs!) as well as maybe try a few mods from steam workshop.
I loaned out my copy of Tomb Raider (want it back). I will probably play some Black Ops II or finish Batman Arkham Asylum.
On the gaming side of things, I'll be playing Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity and Lego City Undercover. I also have some catching up to do with Fire Emblem Awakening's download content.
And all of the time for that will be wasted in a futile attempt to finish the short story I'm writing (on draft three). I suck at writing fiction anywhere that has internet.
I honestly don't know really. Go with the flow. I'm close at prestiging on Black ops 2. Might play some other games. Sad sad.
I am going to lay genocidal waste to the shores of Solstheim!
I just bought xcom enemy unknown and tekken tag tournament 2 so I'll be playing that all weekend. I figured I'd start with tekken first and then try xcom later on, also I want to get that battle block theater game but that can wait just a little longer haven't even tried the demo yet.
Infamous 2 and Rhythm Heaven Fever. Also the iOS Injustice game. Its actually really good!
Revisiting Mass Effect for my Insanity playthrough.
Fire Emblem Awakening and Ni No Kuni for me. Maybe some other games as well.
Defiance all weekend. Judgement during server downtime. Also, you guys on the GI staff keep talking about Defiance server issues like it's uncommon in the genre. Every MMO launch is poor. All of them. You guys should know better. At the very least, you should stop talking about it so negatively that it dissuades people from purchasing/experiencing the game for themselves. I expect better from industry professionals.
I'm going to kick off my spring break with some Battlefield 3, as I've really gotten back into the series ever since the reveal of Battlefield 4. In addition, I'll probably play some Minecraft 360, as TU9 just released.I may continue my second playthrough of Red Dead Redemption as well.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, BioShock Infinite 1999 mode, and some FTL.
