The lights are on
Todd McFarlane, a stalwart creator of video game action figures and collectibles, is responsible for the design of the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag poster.
The poster, depicting new hero Edward Kenway, can only be obtained for a limited time by pre-ordering the title at Gamestop. Black Flag follows the story of Kenway as he takes up piracy just after war has ended between the great Empires of the world. He is quickly thrust into a new war between Assassins and Templars during the golden age of piracy. Expect to meet Blackbeard.
Black Flag will release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, PC and other next-gen consoles. The Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U will get the game on October 29.
See the upcoming title in action in our preview, or read up on the history Black Flag is based on in our feature about real pirates. Below you can watch how McFarlane designed the new poster.
Are you excited for this game? What do you think of the poster’s design?
Full disclosure: Game Informer is owned by Gamestop.
Are you sure you want to say that there will be a Wii U version so soon? For all we know, that could be jumping the gun. There's just no telling with that Wii U, anymore.
I do comics on a Cintiq 24HD, too. Woo.
damn, I can't even begin to imagine being that talented as an artist.
I'm actually excited for this game.
Looks good, I've always enjoyed Todd's work.
Game are is awesome to see. I've gotta make me some Assassin Creed drawings one of these days.
The poster is cool looking but that drawing tablet looks a heck of a lot cooler.
i need to go to gamestop but i just dont feel like it :/
Which side to use though?
AC4 plays really well IMO. Just installed the demo version from here: lootspace.com/news
Really great graphics and gameplay so far, I'm already 15 minutes into the game.
Hmm... It's interesting, if a different artistic approach than I would have at first thought of for the actual poster part, not the map...
How long will the poster be available?
I want the poster and I want the game, NOW!
