The lights are on
The Super Bowl is on Sunday, and that means one editor might visit the virtual gridiron, while others keep chipping away at recently released titles like The Cave, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Far Cry 3.
Jeff Marchiafava: Look, I’m going to get back to Far Cry 3 one of these days, so get off my back! However, in honor of the Super Bowl this weekend, I might just try playing one of those fancy Madden games I’ve heard so much about. I haven’t played a football game since NFL Blitz, so maybe this is the perfect time to pick up the old digital pigskin again. Don’t understand how playing NFL Blitz 15 years ago makes now the perfect time to try a Madden game? Don’t worry so much!
Ben Hanson: I'm traveling back home for the weekend so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to play games. I'm planning on sneaking my 3DS along to play some more Fire Emblem. I'm intimidated and scared of the game's complexity, but I feel compelled to stay current with Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. On top of that, I recently downloaded an adventure game for my iPhone called Lume with a unique art style that I hope to check out. Have a good weekend!
Jason Pfitzer: Heading to University of Wisconsin-Stout this weekend with some alumni to attend a 48-hour LAN party! I'll be getting home just in time to watch the Super Bowl – by myself.
Kyle Hilliard: I was going to keep plugging away at The Cave after getting all the bad endings for the characters and two of the good ones, but the Cloud ate my save file forcing me to start over. I lost all my cave paintings which made me lose all my momentum. Looks like I will just have to make due with some more Far Cry 3. I still need to start a Devil May Cry game, too. As far as non-video games go, I’ll be hanging out with Dan and his dad.
Kayla Herrera: After scrounging around for the week’s best mobile apps, I will be sure to put one of my discoveries, Badass, into frequent use. My boyfriend’s driving out from Houghton, Mich. for our anniversary, and we plan on playing some Split Second and Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing together. The overarching plan is to invest in Guild Wars 2 together at some point this weekend to take advantage of the new Living Story initiative, and participate in something long distance other than World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 (shake things up a bit) – although I can almost guarantee nothing will pull me away from Team Fortress 2 this weekend.
Kimberley Wallace: I have a confession: Although, Maniac Mansion is one of my favorite games, I can’t remember if I ever finished it. I remember my brothers and I getting really far (don’t worry; we took care of the hamster), but I can’t recall if I ever saw the ending. The uncertainty has been driving me crazy, especially because it stands as one of my favorite games. So, this weekend I’m on a quest to replay through the game, hoping my memory reconnects the dots and enlightens me if I ever really did beat the game way back when.
Louis Garcia: I have to put together a weekly newspaper this weekend, but if I can I’m going to squeeze in some more time with Far Cry 3. There’s nothing better than getting dive-bombed by a leopard when trying to scope out a pirate base. I may also sneak some time in with The Cave after hearing about it from Kyle Hilliard, and will try to watch some Battlestar Galactica after Matt Miller explained what it is to me. It should make for good viewing after playing soccer on Sunday.
There sure is a host of stuff to do this weekend. The same goes for me. Grinding some more levels for my last current character on Borderlands 2- which I haven't forgotten about yet of course by any means, Far Cry 3 playthrough number 4, The Super Super Bowl, and whatever else might peak my interest.
I'll be playing Halo 4, and some Minecraft. I need to finish up some homework, also. And then there's the Super Bowl to complete my weekend. Go Ravens!
I will be buying a new pair of hockey skates since it became apparant while I was playing outdoor hockey last weekend that mine no longer fit. And of course i'll be breaking them in. Gaming wise not really sure since i'm just waiting for the releases of Dead Space 3 and the new Sly Cooper. I'll most likely play some NHL or maybe even pick up Borderlands again. I also have an english paper to do and hopefully finish so I can go snowboarding tuesday and also quite a bit of math homework to finish since I didn't feel like driving through ice to school on monday and then I was sick wednesday.
Halo 4, some Crysis 2, Minecraft, and maybe some NFS:Hot Pursuit. Maybe even some XCOM. But they just added Grifball to Halo and I really want to get to lvl 50.
Silent hill 3, trying to do my 2 save run but it keeps freezing (sadly). When not peeing my pants and jumping in fright, Borderlands 2. And maybe some Ocarina of Time 3D. All this between work.
I am going to spend most of my wk end playing WOW but will possibly get in some other games as well. Going to a super bowl game sunday so sad to say there won't be any gaming on Sunday between Church in the morning and the party in the afternoon there won't be time. Have a great wk end GI staff and everyone:)
I'll be dreaming of Fire Emblem. I don't want to do anything else.
finishing Far Cry 3 and side quest on Assassins Creed 3!
I'm playing Skyrim, Halo 4, and watching the Super Bowl.
Soccer on Sunday??!? This makes jesus cry.
Ni No Kuni and the MGS HD collection for this weekend, until The Last of Us!!
Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Fable 2, Crackdown, and possibly Xcom...
Path of Exile, Guild Wars 2, Magic the Gathering: Online and possibly some well received Xbox Arcade games.
The Walking Dead, Dead Space, and Dead Space 2. So.. I'll be spending most of my time in the dark.
Halo 4 Spartan Ops and Ni No Kuni should take up my time this weekend. I don't think I'll have time for much else but I'd like to make more progress in Persona 3 too. I finally feel like I can see the ending for that game now that I'm 70 hours in.
Super Bowl!!!!!!....So yeah, that's what I'll be doing Sunday. The rest of the weekend will probably be eaten up by homework and taking care of the kids (my wife works all weekend). If I do get any game time then I'll spend it in Batman: Arkham City. I finished the main story last week and next I plan to get into the DLC. I've decided to not go for all the Riddler trophies.
