Zynga Loses Its Chief Game Designer

Zynga's chief game designer, Brian Reynolds, former creative director at Big Huge Games, has left the mobile game developer.

News of Reynold's departure comes from Polygon, which received this official prepared statement from Zynga's president of games, Steve Chiang:

"Brian has a long history in the game industry and has been a great partner to the creative leaders at Zynga. I want to thank him for his leadership of the Zynga Baltimore studio in the design and development of FrontierVille, which brought many innovations to social gaming. We appreciate Brian's contribution and we're proud of the deep bench of creative leaders who are leading the next wave of game innovation at Zynga. We wish Brian the best in his next chapter."

in recent months, Zynga has been having problems ranging from the shutting down of major branches to stock scandals which you can read about here, here, here, and here. It's unclear what the future holds for Zynga, but Reynolds left Big Huge Games shortly after it was acquired by 38 Studios, which leads me to believe that he has good foresight when it comes to leaving a company at the right moment.
