The lights are on
Australian gamer Okan Kaya has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon gaming session ever recorded: a stunning 135 hour play session of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Is there an Achievement for that?
Kaya is employed by online retailer 4Cabling, and played the game for seven days to make the mark. Now, I know what you're thinking: "There are way more than 135 hours in a week, what gives?" Well, according to Guinness rules, a marathon game player gets a 10 minute break per hour. These smaller breaks can be saved up to allow the player to accumulate longer breaks for sleeping or eating. That said, 135 hours of gaming is an insane mark, especially considering that some of the Game Informer staff struggled to make it to 27 consecutive hours of Super Smash Bros. (watch our online documentary "Smashed" to see all the gory details), as well as a later Guinness attempt when Dan Ryckert and Jeff Cork managed to play for 50 hours straight.
Kaya's mark is well over double any of our attempts, so hats off to this remarkable gamer and his unbreakable will. Sadly, he was only 37th on the Black Op II leaderboards at the end of his session, so he's got some more practice ahead of him.

Hahha I applaud this guy. It takes skill to do what he did.
I bet the other 36 players ahead of him were boosting to get there.. Awesome feat tho
What a stupid dude. Numerous people have died after three days straight playing. Enjoy the blood clots in your legs!
lol that's pretty sad. I mean, the expression on his face shows he's really enjoying it -_-
Wow. After 3-4 hours I start to get tired. You da bomb man! Seriously, though, spend the rest of your hours with a lot cooler of games.
It is amazing how much hate this guy is getting for breaking a world record. There is no faith in the internet (like there ever was)
The longest I can play is like 12 hours max. This is crazy
Don't know why you'd want to do that to yourself, but to each their own, I suppose.
What a terrible way to spend 135 hours.
well, uhm. goodluck.
Good job
And my wife says I play too much! This guy better hope he didn't develop a blood clot during that time. There is no reviving from that kill cam.
Thats *** insane!!!
i heard that people dies for playing too many hours
Maybe if he hits the 500 hour mark he'll be number one on the leaderboards... Or it'll kill him, of course... ;-)
