It may be the middle of summer, but EA still has its mind on shredding gnar pow.

Today the company made available two new SSX game modes via a free download. Fans lobbied heavily for a freeride mode, and EA has granted their wish. The Freeride mode is a single-player experience that allows boarders to rip up every inch of the mountains free of objectives.

The second mode, called 3-2-1-Go!, is an online competition that pits five riders against one another simultaneously in a series Trick It and Race It heats. The winner is determined by who can post the highest score and cross the finish line before time expires.

If you haven't picked up SSX yet, EA also dropped the price to $39.99.
