Hello Game Informer Online! It's been several months since I was an intern at Game Informer Magazine - months I've spent searching for a paying job. Initially, I'd stubbornly limited my search to video game journalism positions, and eventually to writing and editing work in general. Toward the end of last month, I was accepted to another internship. It's unpaid, and not related to journalism at all, but it's something.

As I'm sure many of you know, it's frustrating to be on a different track than the one that leads to your dream job. I've been taking heart in some advice Matt Miller gave my fellow interns and I before we left. He told us (warned us?) that we would most likely need to take a variety of different jobs before landing one in video game journalism. He also reminded us to always keep writing.

Looking back, Matt's words seem as sagely as Master Yoda's. My current position isn't ideal, but it's wonderful to have something to commit myself to again. And while I'll be the first to admit that I've fallen behind in my writing, I'm determined to commit myself to it once again. I hope you'll bear with me, GIO, and I promise that my future posts won't all be so focused on real life. Thanks for listening, and expect to hear from me again soon!
