The lights are on
Today marks the 30th anniversary of Mario, which is a perfect excuse to reshare this video debate about "New" Mario versus classic Mario. We originally published this as part of the coverage for when the Wii U and New Super Mario Bros. U appeared on our cover, which you can explore by clicking the banner below.
New Super Mario Bros. U marks the fourth release in the "New" 2D Mario line. A lot of the editors at Game Informer are looking forward to the launch game, but can't help but wonder how well these four games stack up against the first three titles on the NES and Super Mario World. Senior features editor Matt Helgeson and associate editors Dan Ryckert and Tim Turi sat down to talk about the new game for the Wii U and how it compares to other entries in Mario's long and critically-acclaimed career.
