The lights are on
Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has announced a few new inclusions for Super Smash Bros. The reveals include a new stage from a beloved RPG and an assist trophy from an older title only recently made available outside of Japan.
For the first time, there will be a stage based on Paper Mario. The fan in the background blows things around, and when the paper folds and unfolds, a new scene is revealed. The second area of the stage is based on the S.S. Flavion from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
Sakurai also confirmed a new assist trophy. Takamaru from The Mysterious Murasame Castle will make an appearance (seen above). The title first appeared on the Famicom Disk System and arrived on the 3DS Virtual Console this year.
Sakurai also shared a new picture of the 3DS-exclusive Tomodachi Life stage. The environment was previously confirmed, but this gives us a new look at how we'll wreck our friends' apartments.

The Tomodachi stage looks claustrophobic and tiny. The Paper Mario stage sounds fun.
I like the Paper Mario stage, as for the Tomodachi Life stage, it looks kind of bland, hopefully the Miis can give it life.
Does the 3ds version have any returning stages?
I'm still on the fence about getting this for 3DS. I mean I want to play Samsh Bros as soon as possible but I don't to wear out its welcome before the superior Wii U version comes out. Maybe if they offered some special items for a preorder I might bite on this.
The last (and only) SSB game I played was the original for the N64. I might get this.
The Paper Mario stage sounds really cool.
As of right now I only have a 3DS, so I can't wait to play this. I really need to pick up a Wii U though. Too much money that needs to be spent, not enough of it.
I want to know if I'm going to need to buy 2 copies of the game on the 3ds so my sons and I can play together, or will I be able to buy one cartridge and just have him connect to the game and play.
I really want there to be more than 2 parts to this Paper Mario stage. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door has lots of stage possibilities and the other two games that weren't mentioned in the Pic of the Day that revealed this stage have some good stage potential as well.
