I promised spring we would do the marathon challenge again, and here we are. The problem is, we're not here! I don't mind ponying up the prizes, but there's gotta be people to receive them!
If you want to do this with us [6 days, as many miles as you can], please make a firm commitment here. And even list what you'd like for prizes, and I'll see if I can't accomodate you. Happy running people.
You can count me in!
Oh yeah, this thing. I missed last year and I want to try this year if thats okay with you guys. Not doing track again this year, but I'll still run.
SON OF A KOOB!
Sure. I'm game.
Boy, glad I paid a visit when I did. I'm so in for this.
I'm going to post a link to this in the GIO Welcome group. Seems like a great way to both introduce new members to community events and drum up some notice of this.
I'm down. Any approximation on the window in which the 6-day period will fall?
@Eyros2k, I'm thinking April 9, maybe 16th, but it's open to suggestion. It sucked that Dstubbs got scheduled out last time, and I don't want to see that happen again.
I'm planning to hype it in the blog section a bit before hand. Get as many runners as possible in on the fun.
Plus, I really wanna beat Keyes, so I want all the practice I can get in beforehand, lol.
You may end up beating me this time. I've only been jogging 3 miles a day as my time at the cross fit gym more then tires me out.
Well that's a bit of a let down, is there any time window that's better for you? I don't mind, this thing's completely up in the air right now.
Could someone explain this process to me please? And how could I participate, if I live like half the world away from US?
Another thing... I can't run. Well I can, but it's the last thing I would like to do since I have a very low endurance (that I cannot change, the word might also be "load resistance???"), mediocre muscular and bone disability and high blood pressure. Mix these all together you'll see why I don't want to run at all. But I dance melbourne shuffle, which is like running/sliding in one place. So my question is, how could I participate?
Also the weather here is horrible at the moment. 2. April and it's snowing outside.
Edit: sorry about that.
But yeah i suppose I should tell the process somewhere on this thread.
Basically, it's six days. You can run or bike, even walk. Each day you post your progress on an updating blog that will be in the blog section. Prizes are raffled off randomly to participants.
I'm thinking one $20 psn and one $20 xbox live card this year.
But right now, we're just trying to pick a good date. I'm liking the 16, myself.
By the way, anyone else hear about that shooting case in Florida? I live there, and I'm feeling especially nervous about running at night, yet it's hot so I want to run as late in the day as possible. Running is gonna be very exciting this year.
Although I'm really busy during the week of 16th April, I do need to get some fresh air sometimes and it's a great idea. Btw... If I do join the competition, no need for any rewards even if I should win anything. And when it comes to XBL and PSN... just saying the last console game I played was Crash Bandicoot on PS1 about 12 years ago. Been a PC gamer for a long long time.
