I was born in the early 80s. The first six years of my life don't matter. At age seven I got my first Nintendo. That's when my life truly began. My earliest gaming was shaped by games such as Super Mario, Super Mario 3, The Legend of Zelda, Double Dragon, Castlevania, Mega Man 3, Duck Tales, and Tetris.
In 1992, I saved up my allowance for 6 months to buy an SNES. The next years of my life were spent playing Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Street Fighter II, Killer Instinct, EWJ, and Donkey Kong Country (101%).
Then in 1997, I got my first job and bought myself a Nintendo 64. Spent my Junior and Senior High years playing Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Mario 64, Gauntlet Legends, Quest 64, Rampage World Tour, and Star Fox 64. Also, in high school I began my MMORPG addiction playing Everquest.
I joined the army in 2000. In 2002, I went to AIT. This is where I discovered XBOX. For my Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), I had a particularily long school. After a couple months, they finally gave us our electronics privileges back. When they did, all of my battle buddies started playing Halo. We would connect 4 Xboxes together across the hall and play 8 v 8 team deathmatches. I was hooked on XBOX from then on. My college years were filled with Halo, Morrowind, KOTOR, KOTOR II, Star Wars Battlefront, Conflict: Desert Storm, DDR, Enter the Matrix, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, Starwars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, and X-men Legends.
In December 2004, I logged onto World of Warcraft for the first time and proceded to log nearly 400 days into my main over the next 4 years.
I quit WoW and deployed to Iraq in 2008. I brought my Xbox 360 with me. While deployed, I enjoyed playing Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Mass Effect II, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Dragon Age: Origins, Puzzle Quest, Braid, Prototype, GTA IV, CoD 4, and Gears of War.
I bought my wife a Wii for Christmas 2009 and we played the occasional Wii sports and Mario Kart.
It is now almost 2012 as I update this bio. I am still married and now have a little gamer running around the house limiting my gametime, but I am fighting hard to catch up. I am working on Fallout 3: New Vegas; Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations; DKC Returns; and all the Lego titles to come out since Harry Potter Years 1-4.
This is my life in a nutshell as it relates to gaming.
