I've been playing games for as long as I can remember. I'm a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy, as I rely on gaming as a form of escapism. I love being able to interact with interesting worlds. Actually, I just love experiencing new cultures and customs, even those that are entirely ficitonal. I love getting to know the history and lore of a new universe.
Aside from gaming, I'm a general reader of comics and a big anime fan. While gaming is at the top of my hobbies list, anime is a close second. I love animation and so far, my favourite animated entertainment have been anime. I love that animation is used to evoke a range of emotions.
My favourite comic would have to be Runaways. It has great characters, a great storyline, a great sense of humour and is actually pretty interesting. Then Joss Whedon killed it with some gang wars subplot and tons of characters nobody cared about. Yeah, I love ya, Joss, but please stay away from Runaways. His run was when the comic had its first real decline in quality.
That said, both gaming and anime have some particular products that I hate. While I won't list them, the opposites of these products are usually among my favourite of that particular medium. Titles that are deconstructions of genres or are unique enough to only vaguely resemble the loathed product or change it in some way are usually my favourites.
I hate the idea that these three mediums are considered to be for children or that they try too hard to be mature.
