The lights are on
This was originally supposed to be up last weekend, but I had a few more films to see, so I decided to wait. Now I'll admit I haven't seen all the films I planned to, whether it's because they didn't play near me or time got in the way. With that said, I have seen a good amount to give my opinion on what were good and what you should stay far, far away from. I won't be giving any awards (got a different idea for that), numbering them, or have my Oscar predictions. I'm just going to name some of my favorite films of the year and some I think will cause brain damage if liked. Now let's get started.
I'm honestly having a hard time figuring out how I want to start this review. It's rare for me to walk out of a film and feel like I endured the same hardships the character(s) did. Whether you're the same or a complete cynic, 127 Hours make you think about what a person can endure and learn as they fight for survival.
The film follows Scott Pilgrim (Cera) who's currently dating 17-year-old Knives Chau (Wong) much to the disapproval of just about everyone. It opens with him introducing her to his band mates, Stephen Stills (Webber), former ex Kim Pine (Pill), and their roadie, Young Neil (Simmons). Together they form the "terrible" Sex Bob-omb that Knives immediately becomes a fan of and thus begins her obsession with Scott.
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Dileep Rao, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe, and Michael Cain
