"Life... Dreams... Hope... Where'd they come from? And where are they headed...? These things... I am going to destroy!!" - Kefka Palazzo
My name is James, but you can just call me widdowson91 if you prefer. I have played video games since I was little over 2 years old, mainly because my dad was a gaming fanatic when he was in his 20's when I was growing up, so gaming has always played an important role in my life.
I love all types of video games, but I'm a fond lover of role-playing, adventure, platform, puzzle and first-person action games. When I'm not busy playing video games I am usually found adding to my ever-growing collection or listening to my favourite soundtracks. I've been a collector for about 5 or 6 years, and my collection currently houses over 1000 games and over 20 pieces of hardware. My holy trinity of video game consoles are the Super Nintendo, Mega Drive and the PlayStation. I've played the PlayStation more than any other console, mainly because it was the console I grew up playing, but if I had to choose I'd say the Super Nintendo is my absolute favourite. I have also played PC games for most of my gaming life, and I still refuse to play several genres on any format other than PC.
“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as
a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about
being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the
suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and
adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy
symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life
or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really
arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would
have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them
openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of
childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
