  • Sin and Punishment: Star Successor

I picked this game up just today, and  i'm already hooked! It's addicting and action packed. Though for the first level you can just hold down the B button, and dodge, actual strategy and caution may be required for the games later, harder levels. The presentation, isn't much. The script is atrocious, and the graphics, though colorful, are lacking in detail. The music is quite good though. It sounds like Mortal Kombat without the lyrics, mixed with Street Fighter and Metroid. You'll have to dodge, and use charge shots along with your basic firing techniques. Though the main parts of the stage can be easy, the bosses can be very frustrating. All you can do is dodge continuously and hope for the best. Some of them are pretty epic though. One features you running across a train, unbuckling cars to crash into a giant rhino type monster. The enemies, are very strange. It looks like they showed some 6 year olds Alien vs Predator, and told them to drawn some pictures afterwards.

T his is one of the best games I have ever played. The control can be iffy and the hit detection can get you riled up at times, but the rest of the game makes up for it. The first thing everyone should notice is that this the best looking game on the... More
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade

The first thing you should notice when turning on this game, is that the game looks amazing. Very much like, yes "A Painting drawn to life." There are two stories in the game. You can play as either a boy or a girl. I chose the girl as the boy is just quite ugly, so i figured i might as well look at something pleasant  for the first play. The story can be difficult to follow as all the voices are in Japanese. But you don't need to follow it at all, as a handy map system always tells you what to do.

  • Metroid Prime Trilogy

    2

I don't see why this game gets worse ratings than all the other Primes before it; it's all three! there's nothing i can really say that hasn't been said already by everyone else. It implements new Wii controls for Primes 1 and 2. And i can say, i played some Halo before playing this, and using the wii-mote is way superior than two joy-sticks. Adam, i can say you are an idiot. My other best friend who now has a 360 (Elite by the way) doesn't like the control either. The only problem is that Echo's multi-player could have included more elements from Prime and Corruption. Aside from that, the game is flawless, with a good mix of, platforming, combat, and exploration.

  • New Super Mario Brother Wii

What can i say? This may be one of the top 5 games on the Wii yet to come. Remember Super Mario World? Well this game is basically that, but with simultaneous 4-player Co-Op. i recommend multi-player, you can all marvel at your own and others failures. It's not a remake or anything, it's own new full out Mario game. It also comes with it's own power ups too.The only thing i have against it, Mario runs much slower that his 8 and 16 bit instalments. I have yet to play the game in further depth, but i look forward to sometime later.

  • Rock Band 2

    1

After Guitar Hero came along, competitors were bound to spring up. Rock Band, to this point, seems to be the only worthy competitor to the massive franchise. The official sequel to the original, does not disappoint. There isn't really much to say about it. You just tap or hit buttons in sequence with little colored bars. The game has a nice track list, plenty of modes, and miles of down loadable songs. However, anyone who is not immediately hooked, may feel a sense of repetition.

  • Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Fighting games are known for one thing and one thing only. ACTION! Smash takes this to a whole new level. Mind Blowing, super explosive, kick-ya-in-the-face, action. I'm  surprised other fighters haven't followed in the franchise's footsteps. It's much more satisfying to launch you're opponent off the stage entirely, rather then watch them just curl up into a ball. There isn't really anything bad to say about the control. The graphics kick-@$$ and the music is 10% original, 90% hit tracks from other Nintendo franchises. The only bad thing is the online play. The idea itself is great, it just has to be put into effect properly. The only mode is 2 minute K-O Fest. Frequent disconnections, Frame-Rate issues, speed changes, and control orientation, are all things you need to worry about while playing online. The game also features tons of unlock-ables, including: Characters, Stages, Assist Trophies, Stickers, Music Tracks, and Trophies. All of which require playing certain amount of matches, or completing certain events. You're going to be playing this game right up until the sequel comes out. And it'll only be improved.

  • Sonic Unleashed

Anyone who has played Super Smash Brother's Brawl, (aka, 80% of everyone who owns a Wii.) was probably motivated to buy Nintendo, Sonic, or Metal Gear games sometime afterwards. Sonic Unleashed is no exception. With all the hype, the game was bound to sell to casual and hardcore gamers alike. Well it did cause i'm here now reviewing it. Once you slide the disk in you get one of the most awesome opening sequences to anything in existence. you're not really going to be paying attention to the dialogue because you'll be watching sonic beating the bolts out of Eggman's hapless robots. Once all the action stops, Eggman fires you down to earth and, you know the rest. You meat up with Chip, a kind of pixie who has lost his memory. The story is uninteresting, and all you really want to do is run fast through the level. After the cut scene with chip, you do just that, slaughtering a few more robots along the way. The control is surprisingly good, and it feel really nice sliding and drifting. Then you get to the were-hog stages. Most people hate this because sonic moves to slow. I hate because the control is messed up. I can't get past the 2nd stage because of it. You're supoused to be able to grab edge's, but i can't because you're accuracy has to be perfect. If you can get past the 2nd were-hog stage, please let me know how.

  • Deadly Creatures

Deadly Creatures may look and sound like a let down, don't be fooled, it's not. If you like Animals, or creepy-crawlies and Nintendo like i do, you will love deadly creatures. You start out as a turantula, alternate between it, and a scorpian in between stages. The turantula focuses more on agile hit and run moves, while the scorpian pummels opponents with his tail and claws. The detail in the graphics is phenomanal, and the landscapes are massive. Unfortunatly, this causes load times during stages and frame-rate issues at times. the motion controlled combo moves are a bit wonky, and i have never figuered out how to do some of them. Now for the story. Hollywood big times, Dennis Hopper, and Billy-Bob Thorton star as 2 low-lifes in search for a chest of civil war gold. i won't spoil anything, but an anti-climactic yet halarious end boss fight sums things up with a bang.

  • Overlord: Dark Legend

When i first picked up Overlord: Dark Legend, i had high expectations. Thankfully, those expectations were greeted fully. You start out as mute emo 16 year old kid who has it pretty rough. His older siblings are total Douchebags, and his father is barely ever around, then he stumbles across a secret chamber and is greeted by some kind of goblin thing who who gives him a special gauntlet and armor that allows him to control other goblin like creatures called "Minions." Minion control works suprisingly well, considering the Wii-Mote. You start out with basic armor and an Axe. As you progress, you can buy more weapons and armor. Armor reduces, the amount of damage enemies deal to you, but upgrading your axes and swords serves only to make you look cooler. So it is best just to let the Minions do all the work. The story is a bit wonky, and doesn't make much sense. There are also frame-rate issues at times, and swinging the axe doesn't feel very good, but the game is still a fun enjoyable experience.
