The lights are on
This Video actually kinda got me think'n.
In my opinion, it's not Nintendo who's failing us with a lack of core titles, it's all the crappy 3rd party companies. Have you realized that Nintendo is squeezing out more out of it's hardcore franchises? Take a look.
I was excited to see the 200th issue in my mailbox. I immediately flipped to the top 200 page. I read it all the way through and felt total confusion! You treat GTA IV like a juggernaut GI, and gave it GotY 2008,and it comes in 26th. I recall in you're review of Twilight Princess, you said "This is the game of the year." promptly. As if it was there was no contest. It comes in 90th. There is something wrong here. Many of the games you deemed to be some of the best, came in MUCH MUCH lower than i expected. I almost bet money on Bioshock coming top 10. It just kinda blows my mind how you cast aside some of your most treasured games.
Chances are, if you play Video Games, and like Sports, you play Sports Games. Though they can sometimes be fun, i can't help but feel that they're overrated. In my opinion, the different a game is from real life, the more fun it is to play. My point, the harder it is to do in real life, it's going to be a lot more engaging. So think about this the next time you sit down to go play some Madden: Why not go outside and play some REAL FOOT BALL?
