Splinter Cell Conviction was my first run in with Sam Fisher, and now I’m afraid of the dark. If you have never heard of this guy, imagine a bear with night vision goggles, and gatling guns for arms. Oh, and make him a ninja and honorary Globetrotter... More

Mass Effect 2 is the best game of the decade. I know, I know the decade has just started, and this title will be taken over by Final Fantasy Thirteen, but until it becomes #2, the title of best game of the decade, belongs to commander Shepard and company.  This game is a beathtaking achivement in storytelling, and gameplay.

What happed 2K? How did we sink this low? The original Bioshock was hands down, one of the greatest games of all time, so theoretically, the sequel should follow suit, right? Nope. Bioshock 2 essentially takes everything that made the originial incredible, groundbreaking, and overall fun, and shreds them with a drill. Wait, retract that previous statement, because 99.9 percent of the time, the drill is out of fuel and is essentially, a wrench. Whoop de freaking doo.

Mabye it is because I have grown up in the era of the FPS and the TPS (Third-Person-Shooter), but Dead space extraction was my first experience with a on rails first person shooter, and I slightly regret even renting this one.

I am not a RPG guy. I find them far too complex, what I do enjoy is jumping into mind blowing action and pressing RT until my eyes bleed. But borderlands really proved itself as the first game that could really take the character building genius of a RPG, and mix it with the entertainment of a first person shooter, oh yeah, and mix in 3 million different guns. Let me just restate that so It can seep into your head, 3 MILLION GUNS.  Weapon lovers like me, you have found your new home away from home on the planet pandora. You pick 1 out of 4 diffrent characters to control throughout your oversized shootout, and each has a uniqe personality and pros/cons in their abilities.

The wait is over, thank god. And the year's biggest game is here. Does it live up to the hype? No. It is physicially impossible that anything not divine and godly live up to the standards of infinity ward's fans. But untill god himself presents a game to the drooling fanboys, Modern warfare is by far the best we're gonna get the game shines in all 3 of its major areas: Campaign, competitive multyplayer, and spec ops.

I hated left 4 dead. I hated it so much, I lectured my freind for buyung such a crappy game, but Francis and zoe and the gang were soooo 2008. Valve, 2009 is your year. I tryed the demo for left 4 dead 2 for kicks and ended up playing it religiously throughout the week. Valve improved so much from the originial left 4 dead, and turned( in my opinion)  a Throw-in-a-ditch-with-E.T game, into one of the best of 2009. The controls feel smoother, and that makes for a much improved zombie killing experience. The mele weapons add a new tacticial edge to the game, and valve even threw in a bunch of extra gore, as a little holiday bonus. My personal favorite addition is the all-too-perfect head popping desert eagle. Each of the characters presents great diaolouge and a strange steryotype induced halaritiy that only valve could provide.

me just get it out of the way. Assassin's creed 2 is by far, the best game of 2009, above modern warfare 2, left 4 dead 2 and borderlands, all of whom are still fantastic games. Assasin's creed is a game that meets and exceeds all expectations from all aspects of the gaming world. The gameplay overall is incredibly fluid and free-running is still a blast. Assasinations are much more tacticial, requiring player's to use their heads, and think of multiple ways to end the life of your target. The italian setting has to be the greatest leap forward for the ubisoft team. A time so rich in history and culture, and yet virtually unexplored in the medium of video games. Each character you meet is diverse, and interesting, no longer the bland creed members of the first game.  Plus, the cavalcade of new features, such as the double hidden blade, or the pistol, make the experience even richer.
