  • Pipo, We'll Always Remember You

    17 2

This blog is to honor and commemorate Pipo (RIP). If you do not know Pipo, go watch the super replay of Overblood, and then you will truly understand friendship. Pipo was the once companion of Raz Karci (AKA Wienerless Steve). Pipo, though we only knew you for maybe an hour, we will never forget you. You saved Raz Karci's life, and through your beeping, enthusiastic hopping and nodding, and claw on your head, you have earned a place in our hearts. Milly did not deserve to replace you, not once did she display the courage to throw herself in front of a monster as you did (she stands still in the corner and spectates). I hereby proclaim January 2nd National Pipo Day. To honor and mourn Pipo, watch the last two minutes of the Overblood super replay finale (it honestly made me sad), which should be played at every National Pipo Day holiday event. Goodbye Pipo, you will never be forgotten. Please pay your respects in the comments.

  • 2011: How will our wallets survive?

    9

Already 2011 is looking to have a lot of great games coming out, it could possibly even be the greatest year in gaming history. I know that people said the same thing about 2010, and 2009, and so on, but maybe this just shows how the quality of games as immersive and fun just keeps going up. But now I have to ask the question: Is there such thing as too many good games?

  • A Plea For A Realistic Shooter (new additions)

    10

I've blogged about this before, but Black Ops has driven me to do it again. Admittedly, I have had fun with this game, but there are so many moments the combat doesn't make sense. For example, I get shot in the toe with a sniper and die but a pistol to the heart does not. I also do not like the inclusion of things such as tomahawks and akimbo weapons (there is no way they should be able to reload as fast as a single gun). By the way I am not just going after Black Ops, as of yet I am unable to find a shooter that is really close to realistic.

  • Keep it realistic.

    8

I started thinking about this while i was reading GIs suggestion to be able to carry more weapons in the next Halo. I am one of those gamers that likes things to be kept as realistic as possible. I would hate to see this suggestion to come true, because it would make the game more unrealistic to me. One of the reasons i loved Killzone 2 was because of some of its realistic components. You get two weapons, a primary weapon (assualt rifle, smg, rocket launcher, etc.), a side-arm (pistol), and a knife. For Halo, i dont think it should be restricted to a primary weapon and a sidearm because of its futuristic mechanic of holding weapons (magnetically to your back). Mass Effect does the mechanic of holding alot of weapons perfectly, by compacting them and attaching to your back, which makes it a lot more realistice than holding an assault rifle then a shotgun and then magically pulling a rocket launcher out of your back pocket.

  • Thoughts on Dead Space 2 multiplayer.

    2

To watch the video for the first look at the multiplayer, click here. I was very skeptical about Dead Space 2 having a multiplayer at first, i loved the first one (one of my favorite games and favorite survival-horror), and i didnt want putting in a multiplayer to be detrimental to the single player experience. After seeing the video on GTTV, i had to admit i was wrong. The multiplayer looks awesome, and i cant wait to get into it (after single player of course). It is very simialar to the Left 4 Dead formula. Ive only played a little of L4D, but it was very fun, and i think this will work for the Dead Space 2 multiplayer. I also cant wait to dismember my friends, which i think may be the greatest appeal. I look forward to hopefully hearing some of the other thought and opinions on the Dead Space 2 multiplayer.

  • There should be a second MAG.

    4

I started thinking about this after reading that article on how a MAG 2 is shown coming out next year in Walmart (doubt it), and i think another MAG would be a smart move. The original had a great concept, massive battles using teamwork, organization, and strategy. Also playing as one team was awesome, making winning feel a lot more important. I didnt think MAG was terrible, but it was flawed and not able to keep me playing it for very long. But the concept has so much potential, that if done right, I believe could be the best multiplayer out there. I also really hope the MAG rumor isnt true, because if so it hasnt been near enough time for Zipper to make MAG the multiplayer it has the potential to be. Theres a lot of work needed to be done on the original title, but if done right, i think it would beat out COD, Battlfield , and all the other dominant multiplayers out there.

  • People need to learn how to read a blog post. (updated with apologies) (second update)

    26 1

(ORIGINAL) Im sorry, but some people need to learn how to read. From what ive seen, and not just on my posts but on almost all of them, people choose to ignore the things written just so they can yell and argue with the writer. I dont know if people do this because theyre lazy, uneducated, or just bored, (in this case you need some more things going on in your life) but you need to stop  and think about what youre saying. Please if you are going to leave a comment, read the whole thing through, because if you dont, the comment is invalid and pointless. Example, i did a post earlier on how i prefer the PS3 and gave some reasons why. Not once did i say they were facts and i stated more than once that everything in the article was my opinion. But still, people keep telling me to stop "talking out of my ass" and to stop staing my opinions as facts (which if you read the article it shows that i am clearly not doing this). I think that everyone should think about what they are going to say before they say it, and make educated and logical answers. Also on an unrelated topic, fanboys please use at least semi-decent english when putting in comments, youre disrespecting the system you are defending when you dont.

  • The Bible MMO post.

    82

Reading the comments on the bible mmo post honestly saddened me. Many called the bible fiction, and that the game was just trying to make money off christians who would play it for the concept. Though I dont know what the company's motives are, the bible is not fiction, and seeing how many atheists there are on this site was a depressing realization. Some comments even depicted christians as "Jesus fanboys". I was glad to see that some christians spoke against a lot of these misguided comments. Many joked about the idea of the game, which i can take, but many took it too far.
