  • Amazing Depth and Realism

    1

Well it is quite apparent that realism is what the guys at thq were going for. It has over 100 fighters (dont remember the exact count) and it has each of the fighters own personal style for the different varieties of techniques and it has its own generic form as well. There is amazing depth when it comes to the create a fighter mode. You can hand pick every single move your fighter can execute including grapples clinches takedowns and anything else that is a part of mixed martial arts. You have stat points to up whatever play style it is that you prefer (even though it may take some time to figure that out). There are nearly hundreds of tatoos along with scars as well as complete facial customization. Set body types give you plenty of options for your fighters beefiness. Its amazing the kind of detail that is put into this. There are also many different modes in which to partake giving plenty of stuff to check out. Despite the abnormally large amount of loading screens it does not necessarily seem to be taking up all your time because there are very helpful tips or tidbits of information that are fun to read on every loading screen. Unfortunately the fighters movements sometimes feel somewhat chunky. It is hard to sometimes get in a rythm and this can sometimes throw you off for your whole fight.

  • Just like poker. Easy to learn, hard to master.

Splonter Cell: Conviction is one of the first games where i tried to be stealthy and outflank guys in a firefight and actually accomplish this goal. And as much as i love the whole; use the shadows and strike while hidden idea in video gaming, i just was never good at it. With this i feel like somebody that actually knows what they are doing.

  • Beautiful

Beautiful. Visuals astound on a daily basis. Easy to just step in and play. Easily takes in new fighting gamers. Simple controls while still maintaining depth in attacks and techniques. Every character in the entire game are very much their own fighter. Could take weeks to finally pick which fits you best. And even longer to master that character. Every fight you are in makes you feel like a truly powerful warrior that has their own style and strategy on how to best your opponent. Tower of lost souls will keep you fighting  for months even for experienced players. And even as a button masher it is possible to bust out huge combos but when playing against a human button masher its not hard to overcome their tendencies with simple strategy. Just a few things that hinder this beautiful work of art is the super short story modes. It gives background into the characters somewhat yet the depth is nowhere near length of SC2s weapon master mode that kept me working for many weeks. Yet despite the lack of a lengthy story mode i simply have enough fun simply playing versus against the computer. As an overall, SC4 has an incredibly deep move set, wonderfully responsive controls, amazing character creation, and beautiful visuals. One of my top faves.
